Now, let my preface this by saying, I did not grow up with Star Wars. I grew up in the mid 80's. When I was a teen, I finally saw the original trilogy, and I wasn't that huge a fan still, but I enjoyed the movies. I was in high school when Episodes 1-3 came out. I thought they wer ok at the time. Years later, now 30 years old, I started watching Clone Wars, the series... It started slow, but I loved it! This made me go and buy all the movies and watch them again. I was sucked in by the mythology and wanted to learn more. I even bought all the Mythos statues!

So, after watching them all, I definitely like some more than others. I am interested to hear other fan's points of views, the original die-hards and the new fans like me. Don't make your decisions off nostalgia only. Think about how it stands up to movies currently and etc.

My list from Favorite to Least:

Ep 4: Loved it, the serious tone and story line was fantastic. I love the dialog and everything. Great Characters.

EP 3: Because Clone Wars cartoon affected me so much, I loved seeing the "conclusion" of what happens after the cartoon ends. I thought the fights were awesome and the darker story line were great.... Dialog still sux.

Ep 5: Great Dialog and characters. Story was great.

Ep 1: I love origin movies. As much as the dialog is bad, there were some cool characters such as Maul. Jar Jar sux.

Ep 6: I personally did not like this movie. I liked that it was the conclusion of the trilogy, and it had the same great cast, but I felt the story could have been better told and maybe it felt a bit rushed? I don't know, somehow this film didn't resonate with me.

Ep 2: Complete garbage. Dialog at it's worst. Love between Anakin and Padme was garbage. I hate this movie.

Here's my order of best to worst, I wonder how the new films will stack up. I hope they have that special something like the OT had.

Interesting perspective. I grew up on the OT personally and think Ep 4 and 5 are the best. I agree that Ep 6 feels rushed and is poorly directed. I also wholeheartedly agree that Ep 2 is the absolute worst of the 6 films (even though it has some excellent stuff in it like all the films do).

Here's my order of best to worst, I wonder how the new films will stack up. I hope they have that special something like the OT had.

I agree with this order -- although I do go back and forth on whether I like ANH or ESB best. ESB is more watchable on repeat viewings because of the non-linear storyline but Star Wars (ANH) started it all.

Episode I-III completely edited and cut into a 2 hour film.

Phantom menace-Show Qui gon finding anikan cut out most of dialog and scenes after thag- keeps parts of pod race, but cut all the kids cheesy dialog and face time during it. Skip directly to first maul confrontation in tatooinie. Then skip to jedi rescue of padma, then cut directly to maul fight (run time 35 minutes).

Attack of clones-cut out the entire first half keep anakins slaughter of sand people and death of mother- cut to arena battle and final dooku confrontation (15 minutes run time).

Revenge of sith- cut out the anikan/padma balcony scene and excess political dialog fluff. Shorten the intro rescue scene dramatically (90 minute run time)

I cannot watch phantom menace or attack of the clones without a fast forward button

ESB and ANH are tied for first. ROTJ is a close second. Really don't have anything bad to say about the original trilogy.
For the prequels, it's pretty much the episodes in descending order. ROTS was great (as great as a movie with Lucas' writing and Hayden Christensen's acting can be), AOTC was pretty fun at certain points but the romantic dialogue was abysmal, and TPM was poorly-paced juvenile garbage.

I love hearing your guys' perspectives!
I was really surprised how much I liked some of the newer trilogy. It really just came down to Lucas ruining them with his horrible writing and the horrible acting of Hayden. I really look forward to see what they are going to do with the new films... I hope that they don't try to get too silly and lighthearted. I think that's what I liked about ANH and ROTS so much, is that it was more serious but with fun bantering.

Always preferred the far superior original trilogy so my order is...

1. The Empire Strikes Back
2. A New Hope/Return of the Jedi (like them both equally)
3. Revenge of the Sith
4. The Phantom Menace (Darth Maul & the duel at the end the best parts)
5. Attack of the Clones - awful, that love story - just no! Only good part was the Dooku duel at the end.

V,VI,III,IV,II,I...... I don't hate any of them just some are better than others. I just watched all 6 seasons of Clone Wars over the last 2 weeks and I gotta say there were some dynamite stories. Loved the series. I also must have read back in the day the first 20(novels starting with the Thrawn trilogy) and enjoyed them too. Again folks get it out of your heads that any future SW film will be like 4,5,or 6. Many did not do that for the prequels. As for me I was just happy to have more SW. That's it. As for anyone liking the prequels more than the early films odds are they are young and that the prequels are what they saw and fell in love with. It's ok. I know many youths that love Clone wars and the Prequels more than the early films. My son and all his high school and scout friends feel that way

The reboots were ok but none stand out as better then the other, they all have good and bad parts.

I'm old enough to have seen the originals in the theater and still have my signed head shot from when they had Darth Vader doing mall tours and signing for kids. It was just a dude dress up as Darth Vader costume , but I was a dumb kid so it was EPIC! Also still have the movie program book they sold at the theaters when Empire played. So it's more ingrained as a great memory for me then the others.
