Silver Linings Playbook 9.5/10

Not much of a Drama (or Eagles:rotfl) fan, but this is a well written, acted movie. I think this was an admirable presentation of people with mental illness who find some inner peace with grace, humour, and humility; with the assistance of family and friends who care for you, professional help, and yes --even medication.

Best movie I have seen this year.

Just watched Batman & Robin for the first time in about 15 years.

The best part was on the special features disc, where Schumacher apologizes for making it. :lol

kahkah / 10. :lecture

Spring Breakers: 8/10 - well that wasn't what I expected.
It was like True Romance, Requiem for a Dream & Drive put into a blender.

Would you even rate it as a 60s TV show tribute type film? I'm curious. I haven't seen it in about the same amount of time as you.

As someone whos a huge fan of the TV series, I couldn't see much of a comparison to make there.

Actually.. in all seriousness, it does have one or two decent things going for it. :lol

Uma Thurman.
She is awesome. I mean it. A complete stunner, & does the tongue in cheek villainess thing perfectly.

Arnold.
As always he's larger than life, & when you're an Arnold fan - you look for the good, & there's glimmers in this. His lines are ridiculous - except for one:
"..my name is Freeze - learn it well, for it is the chilling sound of your impending doom!"

How do you top that line? :lol

Some of the stunts are pretty cool; like Batman's acrobatics etc.

All in all - it is kinda like you said a-dev; a tip of the hat to the 60s era - Michael Uslin even describes it so in the documentary on the DVD.. which is surprising because I thought he'd rubbish them, but he validates both Schumacher films.

I only watched 'Forever' the other day too, & I see why people defend it. It still retains the Burton factor to a degree, & Val Kilmer was really good in the role as others have said. He picked up from where Keaton left off.. almost.

Give B&R a watch a-dev - it's worth one more at least. :lol

I thought this film was outstanding. One of the best films I have watched in a long time. All performances were outstanding. The only thing I disagree on with you is that I would give it a 10 out of 10 :)

28 Days Later - 8 out of 10
28 Weeks Later - 6 out of 10

28 Weeks is still OK and has some great visual moments and I like some of the Characters (Hawkeye is always great) but it does not do enough to be anything more then just a typical sequel.

60's area Batman is better then B&R. Everyone in the 60's show is not even close for being as annoying as half the cast in B&R.

B&R is still to this day the worst big budget Summer movie of all time. For me anyways. I can't even enjoy it on a campy level.

I almost prefer weeks over days.

TCM (2013) - 0/10 was a complete waist of time.... no ****s or nothing... I was even drinking.

Warm Bodies- 4/10 cute flick with a few chuckles, but boring.
