The Serpent and the Rainbow: 6.5/10

Works because of all the trippy horror stuff. Didn't really need a story at all, as that really just felt like an platform for Craven to stick in as much wacky (and great) horror imagery as he could come up with.

Kickboxer, Universal Soldier and Hard Target are the only well balanced movies with JCVD.

"well balanced"...........riiiiight!

I always loved Black Eagle as a kid, even though Sho Kosugi was more the star than Van Damme, but I would love to see them back in a film together as enemies.

Dreamscape: 6/10
Day of the Jackal: 7/10

Both pretty good movies in their own way. Dreamscape had good performances and nice, freaky imagery at some points. Plot was pretty predictable though. Day of the Jackal is considered a classic for good reason. Great suspense and the detective work is fun.
