If I ever feel compelled to again, I'll only ever watch the original one.

The beauty of the good old school horror films is self explanatory, & all these re-imaginings or whatever you want to call them, are just ****ing pointless. Sure - think of new story concepts by all means to push the envelope, but by sucking a dry teet & using video game sensibilities in these current effects driven films - it all just becomes homogenized mud.

The original is great, so original and unique. And the Cenobites are timeless, their design never ages. Hellraiser II isn't bad, I just hate they kill Pinhead in it. Clive Barker is directing the remake with Doug Bradley as Pinhead again, I have high hopes for that considering I'm totally against remakes of any kind.

Yeah - that's fine (I saw the new thread btw), but lightning seldom strikes twice. Recapturing the original magic is next to impossible; those classic films ARE so, because of multiple factors.

Just because the same director's involved in a revamp, doesn't guarantee rainbows really - & there's multiple examples obviously to prove that. :lol

That said - I hope Barker gives the fans another classic.. we'll see.

Yeah I don't see it recapturing the only magic from the 80s, but I'm sure it will beat the **** out of most of the regurgitated nonsense we've gotten with horror films the last decade.

Yea it's amazing the draw Hanks as Disney is getting. Can't say I'd want to see that flick for any other reason, I liked Mary Poppins when I was very young but the movie doesn't look terribly exciting. Still want to see it because of Hanks though.

All performances are superb but Emma Thompson kills it!

It's a wonderful film! It's not exactly exciting but it's riveting all the same. If you like Poppins then this film is a must!

Interview with the Vampire: 9/10, it translates the banalities and existential dilemmas of being an immortal vampire of the book perfectly.

It's one of my favorite vampire movies.

I <3 this movie so much. No matter how much I view it, it never gets old. Which baffles the mind, since I am neither the biggest fan of Mr. Cruise and Mr. Pitt. Still, it is a gem of a flick!

I give it an 8.5 out of 10.

Carnage - 3.5/10
Thought it would be an interesting concept, but in the end it was just a really lame movie. Just 90 minutes of childish behaviour. I know this is the concept, but it just sucked.

I had hoped the ending would be shocking with someone going haywire and accidentaly killing somebody, but no... the movie just stopped.

Christoph Waltz was pretty good though.

Hi everyone! I haven't posted on here for a while as I've been travelling!

Carrie (2013) - 8/10 A good adaptation and Chloe Grace Moretz was great

Thor: The Dark World - 9/10 I really liked this one, might be my favourite solo Avengers movie (tied with Iron Man possibly)

Gravity - 9/10 This really haunted me quite a lot after I left the theatre!

The Hunger Games: Catching Fire - 9/10 Really enjoyed this one, better than The Hunger Games (which is still a great movie)

White House Down - 6/10 Standard but entertaining action movie

Only God Forgives 9.5/10

I loved it. I can certainly see why people would hate it but I think it's a future classic.

That sure was one of the weirdest films I ever saw. Didn't hate it, didn't love it, but I feel a growing urge to watch it again someday so that's a good sign I guess. :lol

Coincidentally, it was on TV over here the other week - & it was the first time I'd watched it in nearly 20 years.

Great film.
