Oldboy ( US ) - 6/10

I wasn't even aware this was released here yet, I'm not surprised it's completely flopped. I'm glad to say I actually quite enjoyed it. It's not a hair on the original but regardless it was a fun movie.

The plot, although it was apparently going to differ greatly, was way to similar. I wondered how many people in the cinema weren't aware of where it was going and found the ending shocking.

Brolin did a great job and bulked up big time for this role, that fat gut he'd managed to muster up was impressive also.
The fight scene was really well done also.

Tarantino probably urged viewers to boycott the film before seeing it because its content was too controversial.

GI Joe - Rise of Corbra

Probably the worst 15 minutes of a movie I have ever seen. And I played with GI Joes when I was a kid. I had a feeling this would suck. Can't believe this movie made money. Wish we could put all the people who like this movie on an island and blow it up.

The Alamo ... 9/10. Liked it better than the John Wayne version, actually. Wayne is iconic ... but he was very miscast as Davy Crockett. He'd have been more suited to Jim Bowie -- but Bowie's not all that sexy a part for an actor like Wayne (sick and bayonetted to death while bedridden doesn't have quite the attraction of Crockett's last-stand heroism). Maybe even Houston. Not Crockett, though.

Billy Bob Thornton was a perfect Crockett, though. Great movie.
