X-Men first class 7/10 take out the Charles and Erik stuff and this movie is pretty bad.

That's like saying if you take out Spider-Man or Superman in their films, that the film will suck. They're the central characters, everything is revolves around them.

Because it's different.
I get it, yes :monkey4
But it doesn't make a good movie.

No memorable bad guys and stupid plot.
Murphy is in no way someone I can root for.
Even in the suit, Weller had tons of personality.
Exactly.
There's sooo little to the plot and it's sooooo boring and meaningless. 2/3 of the screen time you're forced to watch pretentious scenes like "he's made in China", "he's not as good as the actual machine", "he's not human any more", "we are immoral and greedy, but no one cares", "except cop's wife", etc
The most terrible thing is that Murphy was just a pathetic tool.

This reboot was as insulting to RoboCop as it gets... Except the social commentary from the "news", it was brilliant (but too brief).

Who's Benny?

..don't say the guy in the movie, coz it ain't. :lol

I'm glad you guys enjoy your movies, but I think we are getting a tad heavy on handing out 8's, 9's and 10's.

I don't think many people use this thread as a place to objectively review films. Rather just to express in a number their level of enjoyment of a film. I'm sure I gave 10s to Predator and Aliens last year. Are they objectively perfect films? I don't care, they're 10s to me. Why would I go with a 7, 8 or 9 for a film that I love? Just because? I wouldn't even know what I'd be docking the marks for.

Yup. Doesn't matter how well crafted or slapped together the movie is. Did you enjoy it is all that matters.

Btw, I just re watched Predator a few nights ago, first time in years. Could not believe how well this movie holds up. Fell in love with it all over again. I think sometimes I avoid older movies I love thinking I'll thrash them in my head, but all I kept thinking was, "why don't I have this in my time off rotation?"
