Everyone has been in the "T2 is better" camp at one time or another. I just can't watch it with the same enjoyment I had as a kid.

Not true. I saw T1 for the first time as a freshman in high school. I was NOT impressed. I have a feeling had I watched T2 at that age I'd have loved it. But I didn't bother until I rewatched T1 as a college student. Loved it. Followed it up with T2 and eh. I found it to be a shallow action movie by comparison. My tastes had changed. I get the appeal of T2 but I much prefer T1.

Jupiter Ascending 3D - 5/10

Well there are worse ways to kill a couple hours and this one had some pretty spectacular visuals, especially in 3D. So good that I actually wouldn't be surprised if it got a Best Visual Effects nomination for this year. Tatum and Kunis were actually decent but the villains were straight out of Underworld. That's actually the vibe I got from the whole movie: Underworld in space. Secret society of ever young kind of lame villains, chick that is in love with a dog, and so on.

It wasn't tense, it wasn't exciting, a lot of the aliens had a weird "tried too hard" vibe to their designs, not really anything that would make me recommend this movie aside from the visuals. But still that being said I wasn't pissed off that I spent the time to watch it either. At least it wasn't based off a comic book.

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes - 7/10

I thought it started extremely strong but kind of fizzled out by the end. At least I now know that the new John Connor guy can act. Overall I'd say it was a decent but forgettable flick.

I think Dawn tried to hard to be serious. A was a bit too long.

Where Eagles Dare - 8/10 - This movie was awesome. Nice performances and set pieces and a great score. Isn't a serious war flick, but a nice adventure with some twists. You can see where Tarantino borrows from it for Inglourious Basterds.

Heat. Just watched it again last night after not seeing it in about 15 years. 9/10. The coffee shop scene with Deniro and Pacino = Classic.

:yess: That's a great scene. Along with the truck heist scene obviously. One of the most memorable goalie mask scenes in film history, right behind Jason and Garth. :)
