Spartacus (entire series) - 9/10

I could watch this over and over again for the rest of my life. Never gets old.

The most heroic and inspirational character of all time IMO.

Would've been a 10/10 if Andy hadn't passed. RIP.

Jurassic World - 1/5

I fail to see what the deal with this movie was/is/will ever be.

Glad I torrented it instead of paying to see it. I would've been mad.

Hostel - 77/100. It's more clever than it appears. It's got lots to say about xenophobia.

No Country for Old Men - 90/100. I actually paid attention to Ed Tom Bell's speechifying at the end this time around. But I still believe a more conventional conclusion would've made this very good movie great.

Alien: Resurrection - 67/100. Sure, it's got a strong Paul W. S. Anderson vibe running through it, but I still consider it canon, albeit barely.

Insidious 3 - 8/10 why these movies have such a low scores online is beyond me.

I love the spectral realm in this franchise, very metaphysical, I love some of the camera work in this movie, the make up and practical FX, all that stuff, fantastic.

Pace is ok, it builds up quite nicely, eventually the main characters for me aren't the actual protagonists but Elise and her 2 nerds who turn out to be actual characters, Elise is this Ripley-esque hero for sure :lol

I look forward to the next one and I hope the real protagonists are Elise and the 2 nerds.

The speech is very good, for sure - it's a perfect ending to the film thematically. But I agree that it's the only real place in the film where the pacing falters. I've seen the movie twice now and it still feels a little odd.

I just finished reading the book by Cormac McCarthy. It's a thrilling read, and the film is really very faithful with only one or two different story beats here and there.

Ant-Man - 8.5/10

Bit of a slow start, but great once it picked up. And it had funny moments but it wasn't hysterical like everyone made it out to be.

City Of God - Very impressed by this foreign language film 9/10

Ted 2 - Loved the first one, but this was just awful and unfunny imo 5/10
