I seriously thought Snake Plissken was joking. I.. I dunno man. Why? I'm at a loss for words. I just feel like I should be staring into nothingness now, depressed and suicidal. Michael Bay is laughing all the way to the bank and we, as a species, have failed.

When you go to see a Michael Bay movie, you have to leave logic and common sense behind, and just take it for what it is: enjoy the 'splosions, slutty women, corny humor, and... did I mention explosions? You're just not going to get a thought-provoking, and meaningful experience with a Bay flick. But, what you will get is a thrill-ride that appeals to that stupid 10 year old that's stuck in your subconscious. To both his credit and to his disservice, The Bay is a master of his art form .

Age of Extinction was particularly bad because of the overuse of action and explosions. It was just hours of cgi action scenes. They lose their impact after a while. I do enjoy the other Transformer movies though for the reasons you stated, especially the first one.
