Yeah, after recently catching both What We Do in Shadows and It Follows, I definitely have hope for the future of horror(ish) films. Both extremely effective at what they set out to do, and very fresh in their distinctive ways.

So threw in this movie called CHRONICLE and from preview it looked like was going to be decent or good. It had some o.k funny parts but if you were blessed with Superpowers and your family member was sick and needed funds so many ways u could get cash with decent power's. In this film no intel at all on these boy wonder's that get the superpowers. I dont know how to rate this except to say its a trainwreck as gets to the end.

here's trailer.

Shark Night (2011): 4/10

Killer Mermaid (aka Nymph) (2014): 3.5/10

I like monster movies and was hoping to find the next guilty pleasure and neither of these delivered. I was particularly fascinated about Killer Mermaid because I'm not aware of any other movie that has made a mermaid the main villain. Every once in a while they'll be depicted as predatory in some throw-away scene like the latest Pirates of the Caribbean but that's it. Well, she was hardly in Killer Mermaid either and the main cast was quite awful.

It's too bad, because the girl who played the actual mermaid did a very good job. She really did come across as some otherworldly and frightening thing hiding in a (half) woman's body. Oh well.

The innkeeper's a low budget suspense/horror gets a good creepy vibe but just needed more give it a 4
. Actress Sara Paxton does a great job with building up the scare or story of the film.

Jupiter Ascending - 6/10 I've been reading a lot of Sumerian mythology related stuff lately, so maybe my peak interest in related topics biased my experience but I found this to be an ok movie, the Wachowskis most likely took the material from someplace else like they always do, it has forced romance, and very uneven performances but it was entertaining to watch without neglecting some cool concepts and messages, which is what most summer blockbusters do nowadays, action was alright, visual effects were good, plot was very interesting imo a lot was abridged because there's obviously potential for a huge mythology but it was all packed in just one movie, I can appreciate leaving the audience to fill in the blanks but in this case it caused the characters and story to feel rushed, not shallow, just rushed, despite that you can still see some glimpses of personality.

Also, ok score.

Fire in the sky - 5/10 Vintij! :duff :lol this did not evoke the slightest feeling of dread of the unknown in me.

Demonic - 0/10 Wan should be ashamed he lend his name to something this ******, it wants to keep the Horror genre at the very bottom.

Yeah I agree with that, the abduction scenes were great, but the story I don't know, it was just very standard :lol I guess I'm very acquainted with the phenomena so I felt no real excitement.

Spoilers obviously!!!

Furious 7 - 4/10

It started off decent enough but got boring and uninteresting the further it got. The Rock is barely in this one which disappointed my brother quite a bit. Statham is a rather uninteresting bad guy mostly because you know they aren't going to kill off any of the main characters so basically there is no suspense or sense of danger for the cast. None of the car stuff was believable this time around or particularly interesting. Rhonda Rousey getting beat up by michelle rodrigues is bullshyt! Kurt Russel while a small role was pretty good and he was fun to watch. I just feel like Furious 6 ended on a good note with them all getting to go back home at the end, it was a perfect end to the series. Of course they ruined that though. They do a nice tribute to paul at the end though which i liked a lot. Will miss you paul :duff

Jurassic World- 6/10

This movie was BORING! The whole plot of them making this hybrid dinosaur they know nothing about and then it escapes and they chase after it the whole movie. Then they get the brilliant idea to sick raptors on it only to have the raptors turn on them lol. The end is the best part where bryce dallas howard releases a t-rex on it and they fight. The movie really seemed sloppy and rushed to together despite having so long to make it.

Mad Max Fury Road 7/10

I really enjoyed this movie but the ending was a little disappointing. I mean max doesn't kill the bad guy, furiosa does as she is the real main character. Max doesn't really seem like a hero that much though i guess he wasn't much of a big hero in the originals either. There isnt a lot of plot despite being 2 hrs long. Still it didn't feel like a copy/ripoff of the other films which is good, it is similar but does its own thing. The car stunts are really good and exciting. I would recommend this for entertainment value and i hope it gets a sequel some day.

Terminator Genisys 8/10

Really enjoyed this movie despite the bad reviews this got there wasn't one moment i wasn't enjoying it. Arnold was just as great as ever, the new cast was great though i think emilia clarke was really young looking to play sarah. She doesn't disappoint though. There was some great effects for the future war and time travel. I also liked how they created the alternate timelines of 1984 and 2017, kept it from just being the same old go back save sarah, stop judgement day from happening. Skynet turning john into the enemy instead of the hero of mankind was a nice twist/idea as well, something different for a change. I just wish they had really destroyed skynet so the story could end on good note. Instead of that end credit scene where skynet magically survived that explosion. :slap

Still i do recommend TG to any terminator fan.

Hollow Man. 6/10. Not a great movie with very impressive effects. The visual effects alone make it worth a watch.
