Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back 10/10
Well they're all part of the beloved 80's trinity (even though technically Alien was 79), so I feel it's only natural to compare them.
Yes, that is the correct answer.
I'd rank'em as such:
Terminator - 9/10
Predator - 9.5/10
Alien - 10/10
T2 and Aliens have lost quite a bit of respect from me over the years, especially T2.
Predator over Terminator? Nahhh.... I like Predator a lot, but I put Terminator over it by a mile.
I don't care as much for T2 and Aliens either much anymore, more so Aliens.
T2 would have fared better if there weren't T3 and Geneshyte to ruin the protector Arnie angle. I always thought that the reprogrammed "good" Terminator should have been a one shot deal.
I don't know, maybe that's what killed the massive allure I used to have to T2 over T1. All the sequels after are just new Terminators models, and they just use the T2 formula over again.
Yup, that's what killed it for me. How the hell do you turn your antagonist into the hero 2/4 times? I get it that it's Arnold and he's the very definition of a bankable superstar, but it also ruins the Terminator mythology. Could have easily had him as the bad guy again in T3, or heck- Genesys, but nooooo, we have to ride that T2 train again!
This is why I love the TV series so much, Skynet or reprogrammed- they don't mess around with the concept that these things are supposed to kill you, not act as a dumbass cliched man-tank.
I miss the days where Arnold was scary.
The films took all the danger out of the Terminator itself, since it became so easy to capture and reprogram. Seeing how Genishyt played out, T7 will be another T2 film. They just can't break away from that formula. They shook up the universe by turning Connor into a robot zombie, but that was the only thing new that it did.
The only part I thought was faithful was the T-Yuan Thousand.
Yes, I'm a horrible man.

You'd think that basic thought process would at least prompt some sort of light bulb in these Hollypoop types' heads to turn on, wouldn't you.Agreed with this. It doesn't ruin T2 after-the-fact for me because ''good-guy'' Terminator was very interesting to see but it should have been a one-off like you said. Repeating it again and again reduced the threat not only of a T-800 but of the villains in any given film.

Money bags extinguish any glimmer of light in their dense capessas.
He hasn't got that much time left dude. And Arnold will keep coming back for them for the foreseeable future since he's got a divorce he's paying for.
