Patema Inverted 7.5/10
Almost gave up on this anime initially but the story did take an interesting turn and I liked the overall message. The ending confused me a little bit though.

"This is not an exit."

Basically to me, it was just reiterating how he felt about the world and he would just further continue his madness.

That I get, but what confused me is the
lawyer guy at the end saying he saw Jared Leto alive in London, but he had already been killed with an axe. So did he not kill the guy? Was it just his imagination? If not how'd the other guy see him alive in London?

It's intentionally ambiguous so that you draw your own conclusion. He shot a patrol car with a tiny pistol and blew it up, as well as chasing a prostitute with a chainsaw while both were screaming and nobody noticed :lol not like that's very realistic.

Also the apartment was remodeled, and the real estate lady gave him a dirty look like if she knew who he was and what he did, passed through the same building twice, the first time he killed the receptionist but the 2nd time the receptionist was there anyway, the name changing, etc etc.

You're not supposed to know what's real because Patrick doesn't know what's real, or it can also represent the cold and uncaring nature of society/the corporate world, providing some of those things did actually happen, among other things.

It gives for many many viewings and much thought.

I thought it was pretty clear that he didn't do anything. All his fantasies were in his notebook, but he might do those things one day. However, it's all subjective.

You can't tell for sure that either everything or nothing happened, because most of it is intentionally ambiguous, you can kinda tell in some parts the moment when he disconnects from reality, but for instance, killing hobos in dark alleys? Could very well have happened, I think it was the director himself who said it's not one way or the other.

I don't go one way or the other either, I think it's more interesting to leave it open, the notebook very telling, but it also isn't much proof of anything other than his fantasies.

True, he may have killed some homeless people, but I don't think he killed Paul Allen, since Harold saw him in London (Unless it wasn't really Paul Allen, and just another guy wearing an expensive suit :lol) and Detective Kimball dropped the case because Bateman had an alibi.

It could also be that people don't give a **** about each other, and Harold doesn't even know who Paul Allen is or what he looks like and he was confusing him with someone else like Patrick was himself confused with some other guy. So maybe Patrick did kill Paul Allen.

But not even Patrick is sure of that.

Look at my edited post...still, El Flasho has a message for you from the future.

Says the guy who thought it was "pretty clear" he didn't do anything :lol You can never ever tell me I'm stretching after your shenanigans in the P2 and BvS discussions :lol

Sure I can. Besides, I said it was pretty clear that he didn't killed anyone...but I also said, it was subjective, therefore a matter of opinion. Oh...and Predator 2 is still super weak. :bunnydanc

It Follows - 6/10

Still don't understand the hype. I thought it was kinda lame TBH.

Really? I thought it was excellent, the Cinematography was extremely well done. It was supposed to be more along the lines of an 80's horror flick. Did you at least enjoy the soundtrack?

If he didn't actually kill anyone in American Psycho...that's lame. It's like the main character waking up at the end of a movie only to find out it was all a dream. Disregard my 10/10 Wizard of Oz review. :monkey3
