I'm always happy to read someone else saw Bone Tomahawk.
I saw this in theaters, and recall not being allowed in to see the frighteners because of our age--since it had MJF and was clearly influenced by Ghostbusters that was my no brainer first choice. We must have seen Escape as our backup. I disliked it at the time and have had no interest in seeing it again. But your rereview has me thinking I should.Yep it came out the month after Independence Day. If you walked into a movie theater in August 1996 your choices would have included ID4, The Frighteners, or Escape from L.A. Hard to believe that Steve Buscemi starred in this the same year as the brilliant Fargo. [emoji38]

You couldn't see Frighteners but were allowed to see Escape from L.A.? Weird, because they were both rated R. I say stream Escape off Netflix and give it the 15 minute test. You'll see pretty clearly what you're in for and then can decide if you're having fun or if I'm just off my rocker again.
Escape From LA is rated R? I remember seeing that in theaters and there's nothing that stands out in my mind that warranted an R. Are there a lot of F bombs in the movie?
BvS Ultimate - 7.5/10
I much more enjoyed it the second time skipping to the fight scenes..But Eisenberg is an atrocity, he should be tar and feathered and never allowed back into the DC or Marvel universe!

I never thought about ignoring the first two hours and ten minutes. Smart move.
Eraser (1996) - 7/10
I had forgotten what a dark and violent movie this is. First time watching it in close to 20 years. I enjoyed it in the theater but after Batman & Robin, End of Days, The 6th Day, etc., I basically lumped it in with all of Arnold's post-Cameron "crap" and never really went back to it. But Eraser is legit! Cheesy but satisfying, Caan makes a great villain and Vanessa Williams holds her own against Arnold. Rail gun effects are still cool to this day.
Yeah, I've always liked True Romance.
Plus they were both filmed with cameras.
