Why do you like The Witch so much? It's not scary, the pace is super slow, and the ending wasn't even great.

After hearing sooooo many good things about the film, I was very disappointed by it. For a second I thought I got the wrong movie. It's easily the most overrated film I've seen since the Blair Witch Project, but at least that one tried to be original.

The Witch is basically an M Night Shyamalan film, without the twist ending, but just as boring with the same over dramatic acting. A sequel could be interesting, but I won't be watching it.

It did have a twist though.

The main protagonist actually turned out to be the title villain. And she was hidden in plain sight on the poster all along. The entire movie is basically an origin story for a villainous character, not unlike something that George Lucas attempted and failed spectacularly at.

But otherwise I was just messing with you.:) Like BR and BR 2049 The VVitch isn't for everyone. And those who don't love it tend to hate it.

I won't fall for it.

Strength Gaspar, strength.

I get that, although I didn't see it as a twist.

the talking goat was unexpected though, although I had a feeling he was bad the first time I saw him....maybe because he was on the DVD cover :lol

Yes a few of us were commenting on how idiotic it was to put Black Phillip on the cover when the blu-ray first came out. A real bone-headed move especially since hardly anyone actually saw the movie in the theaters and would have had no inclination to assume he had greater significance beforehand.

I didn't know that. Both covers
have the "villain" on it, but having the goat on it is a bit more obvious.

I had no knowledge of the story or the characters, and
I didn't think much of the goat dvd cover either, other than it reminded me of Slipknot's IOWA album cover, which had a black goat on it, which they probably use as a symbol of evil...if I had to guess.

Very odd film. I wanna hate it... but just can't.
Yes, the story is boring and the characters are mess...
But it did a lot of cool things and had a lot of heart.

The music helped a lot.
It sounded a lot like "The Land Before Time" in places, and I love that movie.
Same year of relese, both produced by George Lucas, James Horner. :D

Fantastic music.
