Downsizing - 7/10 - Good movie. Most of the time the story doesn't seem to go anywhere, but it's a nice journey nonetheless, with some decent social commentary and all the characters are likable. A few funny moments, but the film is mostly a drama.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales: 8/10

Such a fun movie, it reminds me of Dead Man’s Chest quite a bit from the way it’s shot. Few things that I didn’t like was just the overtopping of some scenes, specifically the bank heist and the statue coming to life. Both really fun scenes that the silliness dampens. All the rest is 100% Pirates.

If they don’t do another this was a perfect swan song for Jack and all the OG characters.

I agree! The first and Dead Man’s chest will always have a special place with me! I’m glad that Dead Men Tell No Tales is up there with it. (And that it’s much better than Stranger Tides).

Felt like classic POTC. I tried watching OST and couldn’t get into it. DMTNT got back into it.

I hated AWE for how they turned Davy Jones into Beckett's slave. I don't hate OST at all but I found it only slightly less boring than the sequel trilogy SW garbage.

You're just obsessed, love it or hate it, You just can't stop talking about the new Star Wars movies. This is the sort of thing so many of us have been talking about in the TLJ thread.
