Creed II: 8/10

Kinda slow in the beginning, but really picked up halfway through. Kind of a tear jerker.

I actually felt bad for Drago at the end :lol

Crimes of Grindelwald.. 4/10 the set designs and acting were actually pretty good but the story was a mess. And long sililoquies by the characters trying to explain what was going on didn't help.

Candyman - Ya know this is a film that I only thought was average to kinda Bad when I first saw it in theaters so many years ago.

I think it was just too dark and devoid of Hope that I just did not know how to process it.

As an adult I find this to be easily the best film based on Clive Barker's writtings and the film is slowly moving its way into my top 20 horror movies of all time.

Love how its shot. Love the preformances. And the Score is fantastic

4.5 out of 5

The Ring Two (2005) - 5.5/10

A very average thriller that commits the cardinal sin of not ever actually being scary or even particularly suspenseful. What I did enjoy about it was the nice cinematography and an always great performance by Naomi Watts and more importantly I simply liked how they brought closure to the "lore" that was established in the original. So while it was a pretty flat visceral experience from beginning to almost end I did find it satisfying enough by the time the credits rolled.

DieHard
9/10
Plexworthy: yup, blueray os great
Rewatchability: 7:10

Enjoyed with my teen age kids for the first time. They balked at the idea of an 80’s action flick, but by the end they were completely entranced...

They just don’t make em like they used too....

Sent from the inside of a giant slug in outer space.....

Can’t wait until my kids are a bit older so I can unleash 80’s awesomeness upon them.
Die Hard, Predator, Terminator .....[emoji3]

Jurassic Park - 10/10

Jurassic World - 7/10

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom - 6.5/10

The Avengers (2012) - 10/10

Men in Black (1997) - 10/10

Conan the Barbarian (1982) - 10/10

Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, pristine print. :rock

For what it is, it's absolutely perfect and holds up today in every single way. It even goes toe to toe with LOTR in my mind. The cast, action, score, locations, costumes, cinematography, utterly quotable lines. Even the giant freaking snake still holds up. A true cinematic joy to see on the big screen.

Conan is great, but toe to toe with LOTR!?

That's crazy talk!

Possibly, lol. I made sure to say toe to toe with "LOTR" and not toe to toe with FOTR because the theatrical cut of that first film is untouchable along with the original SW, ESB, and ALIENS in my mind. Ah screw it, CTB is untouchable too, lol. For what it is it has no equal. :lecture :)

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindlewald - 7/10

Honestly I was pleasantly surprised by this one. After all the negative reviews I was expecting a dumpster fire. Especially after the first one which I hated. Felt like a pointless, meandering cash grab.

But unlike the first film which was pretty much a silly waste of time that didn't quite manage to justify its own existence; at least this one seemed to have a story to tell. I still think that 5 films is a bit much for this series. And the character development and worldbuilding are sloppy at best. And ironically the "fantastic beasts" related plotlines still remain the weakest plot elements. But overall I actually thought that they did some interesting things with the characters in this one and found myself looking forward to the sequel.

The highlight is Jude Law's Dumbledore; who while slightly underused, came off as a genuinely interesting character.

Coco - 9/10 - Holy hell. After losing a grand parent in the last year this movie was like an hour and a half heart punch. The room got a bit dusty at times.
