Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Going into it I know that it's an adaptation of a Twilight Zone episode. Will that help my enjoyment of it?

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Avatar (for the 2nd time but on Blu Ray at home this time) last night. 9/10 but the BLU was AWESOME! Wow, what a picture!

How to Train Your Dragon today, 10/10...OUTSTANDING movie! I took my daughter so we only saw it in 2D but it was really fantastic. Highly recommend this one!

Harlem Nights : 8/10

It was entertaining. :)
Love me some Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy and Redd Foxx! :rock

Shawshank Redemption - 10/10.

It's been a long time since I've seen it, and they did an amazing transfer to blu-ray. I still think this is as close to a perfect film as anyone could get. Still gets me every time.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Wow, that high, huh? It was a ____ed up movie.

On a surface level maybe. It's too easy to dismiss as shocking though. It's perhaps the purest form of art I've seen in years. Something that inspires the deepest fissures of your mind. Theologically, philosophically, socially, psychologically, the list could go on. Deep ____, and beautifully shot. Provocative.

Yeah, there's a lot of depth in there for those willing to dive, but it's still a ____ed up movie. :lol I did enjoy it though, although 'enjoy' might not be the right word.

Face/Off -- 8/10. Suspension of disbelief required for the medical stuff ... but overall, a very good action movie. I'd put it up there with The Rock and The Family Man among my favorite Cage movies. Inventive plot (again w/ suspension), reasonably well acted, good gunfights.

Terminator Salvation: 7/10
First time seeing it since the theater. It was actually better than I remembered... like a lot of films the second viewing allows you to be more relaxed and not as nit-picky :lol The end seen is still a bit of a wtf for many reasons... but overall I really enjoyed seeing it again.

It's not an adaptation of a TZ episode, it's an adaptation of a short story by the great Richard Matheson. They also adapted it into a TZ episode.

And yes, the movie sucks mucho.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Watched Avatar tonight. On a visual and aural level, 10/10. Great looking movie, great sound, excellent blu-ray. On a cinematic level, maybe 7/10. The movie was at least 30 minutes too long - that first 80 minutes is long and drawn out beyond belief. Yes, it looks great - but it's just one long scene to show off the special effects. No plot, no character development, but it's saved in the last 60 minutes by the action.

Kick-Ass: 10/10

WOW! I had no idea. I never read the comic, so didn't know what to expect. Talk about creating a new genre. I think I'm in love with Hit Girl. I wish I was 11 again.

Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan 8/10

It was on tv last night and i haven't laughed that much in a long time, really good stuff!

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Avatar - 6/10

Sorry not looking for an arguement but I still don't get the hype. To me the CGI alone does not impress, I play video games with maxed out video settings that immerse me far more into the created universe. Like Mike said a page back the movie is slow as well. It just didn't feel any differant then a typical Disney animated feature to me, like a Toy Story or Jumanji. I did give it an extra point vs. my experiance seeing it in the theatre where i gave it a 5/10. The differance being in my home, I think I had more to do to break up the monotony. It was the knowing at any moment I could at least fast forward to the end action unlike in the theatre..
