I almost agree. I gave it 3 & 1/2 out of 5 stars. I understand why most people didn't dig it. then ending was just to far out to connect to the plot of the film. I'm a very cerebral thinker & I normally don't mind far out plots or ending. But M night hinged to much on the graphic deaths & not enough in story development. I felt that if he was gonna end up using the trees as the "bad guy" he needed to give more to lead the audiance to such a off beat suprise ending.......which let's face it wasn't that shocking.
M Night is like a drug addict chaceing his past glory of 6th sence. He really needs to learn to move on in his movie making to new grounds.

wow. glad i finally got around to seeing this. at the end it reminded me slightly of sympathy for mr. vengeance. great movie. thanks to tay for the reccomendation.

Movie Marathon last Friday & Saturday afternoons with the wifey:
- Fun with ____ & Jane (2005) - 7/10
- 13 Going on 30 (2004) - 6/10
- Shopgirl (2005) - 5/10
- I Love You Man (2009) - 6/10
It was torture for my testosterone levels.. But I had a good time watching with her!
And Tea Leoni is still hot!!!

I saw this one today... really good. I'd go more 8/10; some of the acting was a bit over-the-top/melodramatic. But still very well done and deserving off all the attention. But certainly not a feel good movie:
You must have been sitting around bored today as well... saw that both of these were playing on TV. Passed on shorts, but I did record DB just so I could see the awfulness of it for myself.
BTW, if you're looking for painful movies... may I suggest "Battlefield Earth"

Step Brothers: 6/10
Laughed my ass off, but it was not a great movie.
Sherlock Holmes: 8/10

clearly a movie for old rich divorced white women. so i'm a bit worried that even though i'm none of those, i enjoyed it enough to give it a 6.5.
