The Prestige 9/10

Going thru Nolan's films in preparation for Inception. Prestige is GREAT and love Bowie as Tesla :rock I hope Nolan uses his non linear editing for Inception. Watching BB, Memento and now Prestige I miss that. You get all the information needed, but it feels more like a puzzle when he uses non linear editing.

Next up: Following and Insomnia

That man really makes some awesome films! One of my favorite directors! I'm definitely looking forward to Inception! :rock

Hot Fuzz - 9/10

I think I actually like this movie more than Shaun of the Dead.
Love this part with Paddy Considine. :lol

:lol :lol :lol

I totally agree with liking this better than Shaun. I feel the same about it. :rock

Dexter season 1 10/10

Nice! :rock

Reminds me to check if there's any word when S4 is gonna start here...

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

The Mutant Chronicles- 4/10. Some bits looked great and I loved the steam-punk feel it had, but it wasn't enough to reascue it.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince - 7/10. Like with most Harry Potter movies, I just don't get the excitement of them. Visually the movie is great, the story is fine, but it so long winded, the action is weak and most important I just don't get why some extremely powerful warlock that can beat Harry any day of the week doesn't just crush him, or have one of his other wizards take him out...Yeah, Im sure its in one of the books, but why do we need a thousand movies to explain this...

Story? What story? They mutilated any possible story and ____ted all over the book. It was not great like the others.

The Karate Kid- 10/10

Watched this for the first time tonight. (Go easy on me, it was before my time and I have watched dozens of other 80's and 70's movies.)

This movie was really excellent, and epic. I just love the theme of wisdom and guidance, and proving that the "weak" are not always so weak. And that knowledge is something that cannot just be bought.

The only thing that irked me just a little was that a couple story elements were unrealistic/forgotten, but it was just a little bit and is a minor gripe. The other thing is the abrupt ending, I kind of wished they had a resolving scene, or Miyagi telling him how good he did and then him and Alli going to the beach together before the credits.

Anyways, I really want to watch the sequel now. I hear it is not quite as good as this, but nonetheless I want to see it. Not sure about seeing the third one though.

I will probably also watch Khung Fu Kid as well, but I doubt it will be as great as this.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

obviously that was the original 1951 version.................because if you had watched john carpenter's 1982 version you would have rated it an 11...........:tap

It was Carpenter's 1982 version. :pfft: An 8/10 is a VERY good rating imo ............. its the dum dums that throw 10's out like every 2nd film ever made is a materpiece.

For example imdb rates it an 8.2/10 @ 75,623 votes.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Shutter Island 8.5/10
The Book of Eli 8/10

Both good, solid films.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Just watched "Hitman"...well not so bad as i thought it would be. Pretty violent as well. Straight forward action. And Olga Kurylenko is a fine woman. ;-)

7 / 10

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Shrek Forever After

6.5/10 A lot of good laughs in the first 2/3, but only worth a one time rental.

We planned to see Toy Story 3, but they had sold out of tickets 20 minutes ago. Saw Shrek instead. Will be seeing TS2 next weekend. I expect it to put Shrek to shame.

Zombieland 10/10 - Nut Up or Shut Up!

:hi5::yess::clap

Transformers: 9/10 Awesome and entertaining film! Storywise maybe a little flawed, but it definitely makes up for it in visual awesomeness!!! :rock :rock :rock
