The Illusionist 6/10

this film is like the slow cousin of Chris Nolan's vastly superior The Prestige. I wish I could have spent the time watching that movie again rather than sitting through this dreck.

I completely disagree. The illusionist is far superior :hi5:

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

The Shootist 10/10 I was never a big John Wayne fan, but my dad was. I'm more of a Clint Eastwood western guy. But The Shootist is my favorite Wayne movie, slightly ahead of Rio Bravo. With a couple other favorites of mine in the film (Jimmy Stewart and John Carradine), along with the tragic mirroring of Wayne's death, it's definitely a classic.

Kingdom of Heaven (Directors Cut): 6/10

A pretty good movie, but I often found myself a bit confused by what was happening and why it was happening. I was entertained, but it did feel like the movie could have been tightened up a bit.

Not sure if that is because its the directors cut (first time seeing either version), or just a general issue with the movie.

I actually thought it was better than I remember. I watched the Director's Cut recently and understood much more than the first time. I enjoyed it much more.

I actually enjoyed it just as much, though the Prestige kept me pulled in just a tad more. I think the leading lady role is what did it. Just not the perfect fit.

Anyhoo....

Let's See..

Collateral - 9/10
Seven Swords - 8/10
Ninja - 4/10
Tango and Cash 8/10 (old school fun)
The Road 7/10
Last Airbender 7/10

Yeah I like both movies as well. Don't know why people keep comparing them. Other than the magic theme these movies have nothing in common.

House By The Cemetery

Don't know how I feel about this film so I can't really rate it. Didn't hate it but it wasn't great.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

To Kill A Mockingbird - 10/10

Still one of my all-time favorite movies.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Cloverfield ... 7.5/10. It kept me interested. Interesting concept, compelling story, well executed.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

I am with you, the The illusionist was SUBPAR.

I can't even describe how I felt when I saw The Prestige!

I never heard of it and then one day they where playing it on HBO or something and I sat down and watched it. The ending effected me for days!!!! I was like WTF! @_@
And my Christian acted so good in that! And David Bowie was a perfect pick for that......don't know why.....he just was!

I'm gonna put it on at home once I finish my Dr. Who series 5 marathon. :lol
