Predators - 7/10

not bad. not a lick on P1. some parts were great, some parts not so good (some parts an utter waste of a good opportunity). lots of reference to previous films, overall pretty enjoyable and the pred designs were cool, but nothing special for me.

i guess they did well considering they were never likely to capture the tension, atmosphere and sheer sexiness of the original.

Surprised to hear such high ratings for Predators... guess I'll have to fit it in this weekend.

don't expect too much and you'll probably leave happy. i think they made a big mistake in trying to invoke previous films, coz it doesn't live up to it. i was probably a little generous to be honest. 6.5 is probably more representative of how i felt about it.

i should probably mention though that i'm already planning a second viewing. i had one of the WORST viewings ever. never been surrounded by just sooo many a-holes. i had to kick off an a couple of people in the foyer afterwards. i guess the first screening of a movie like this attracts certain types.

I guess it's nostalgia or something since I loved this film when I was a kid

Its much better than "the Legend of Chun-Li". That movie was terrible.

Dont waste your time. The movie has nothing really to do with Street fighter story.

Predators 7.5/10

Better then P2, AVPs, A3, AR, T3, T:S. Fun flick, great characters, some surprises. Even Tophers character was enjoyable. A little too much "I know theyre hunting us" stuff in the beginning. Great deaths, a sold out crowd cheering and clapping helps too especially those who had it coming. Some referances to P1 but not overboard. Liked the story about Arnolds team in 87.

All in all I'm pleased. Still not feeling Mr. Black's design, tho all the colors are more muted then we've seen on figures. Did warm up to the Tusked Predator look however.

Unleashed (also known as Danny The Dog) 9/10

This is Jet Li's best non-Asian produced film, imo. This movie kicks so much ass. Bob Hoskins and Morgan Freeman are also great in it, but Jet Li really surprises me in this one, showing how well he can act when not speaking his native tongue.

Percy Jackson and The Olypians: The Lightning Thief - 9/10

Epic movie. Great story and action. Didn't read the books, but I don't care.

My only reason i didnt give it a 10 is because of the way they portrayed medusa and her "lair".

I liked this movie, imo this is the sequel to the original and not 2, i would like to erase 2 from my memory completely!!!

I liked the subtle nods to the original and i did like the 87 story also. Ok there was some scene grabbing from the original but i didnt see that as a negative.

Some have said Brody looked awkward and didnt fit, personally i liked him, i liked all the cast to be honest.

I love the new pred designs also, my very well be tempted to get me a HT Black now
