Inception - 9.5/10

Absolutley amazing. Nolan continues to build a seriously impressive body of work.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Why u so stingy not giving it the xtra .5 points. :tap

It did feel a little long. Although I'm not sure what could have been tightened up. I do plan on seeing it at least one more time. Maybe then I'll give it that extra half point. :)

Btw, the storytelling should make James Cameron feel embarrassed.

Inception- 4/10

Me and a friend saw it, and almost everyone I've talked to agrees that it makes no sense as a whole, and was long, and rather pointless. There was no story.

I'm not a fan of movies that don't make sense. I gave it 4/10 for good visuals and some interesting ideas or parts. The rest was just nonsense to me, and it pains me that Christopher Nolan was the one who directed it.

I'm going to get a lot of hate for this I suspect, but this is my opinion, and I probably won't reply to comments like "are you insane?" Because I'm not, the movie is just a bunch of gibberish on a grand scale.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

I don't understand how people can be confused or not 'get it'...the film's really not that hard to understand :dunno

If you or everyone you've spoken to don't think it makes sense you all need to watch it again. It makes perfect sense , the movie leaves you with questions and thinking about the whole thing. That's the point.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Last night I watched The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. 8/10

Dying to see this, as the new one is out here at the theater. It will be interesting to see what David Finch and Daniel Craig do with the remake.

Hey Edward, I had a conversation with someone who had a similar reaction to the film as you did. His reasoning was, in general, he does not enjoy films with characters endlessly expaining what is happening in the film. The point of a movie is to be shown rather than lectured. That is a vaild point, though in the context of this film I'm not sure how that could be done. His overall impression was "what's the point" and "lots of flash for nothing." I enjoyed the film, found it though provoking, and was pleased by Nolan pulling it off. Meaning it was good idea well exectuted. There are plently of good ideas in films, but many are poorly executed(Johnny Mnemonic for example). Well at least you liked the visuals. You didn't care for any of the acting? I liked every damn character in the film.

Your friend hit the nail on the head...it got to the point where I was saying to myself in the theater,"OK, we get it...,"

I'm not intending this as a cheap shot (though it may come across that way) ...

What if the movie did make sense, and you just didn't get it? I remember people complaining about the first Mission: Impossible movie not making sense as well. It made sense, it was just complicated enough that some people didn't catch it on the first go-round. The Matrix movies had the same problem.

For some, Inception may be the same way. I think it made sense ... but the technology, action, sci-fi, and simultaneous dream-sequence elements of it were probably complicated enough that not everybody will understand on the first time through.

I think I understood it ... and I still probably need another viewing to catch some of the intricacies. You may come away with a better understanding on a second or third viewing.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Friday The 13th (remake) 10/10 I gotta give it a 10.

I really enjoy the remake. Not quite a 10/10 to me but definately one the the better films in the series. I remember talking to some guys who didn't like the remake because Jason ran, was human and was "too smart" and even a few complaints there was too much nudity. But people forget Jason ran after his victim in the first 3 movies he was in, was human and despite popular belife he was never retarded. If you pay attention to the earlier movies, Jason, while not rocket scientist is still intellegent. For instance, he knows to cut power lines so victims can't call out for help, set traps, stalks his victims and kills them one by one and hides the bodies so not to alert anyone and then sets up the bodies in areas he knows his last victim will find them to intimidate them and in part 4, he breaks Robs rifle so it can't be used againt him. Plus with the exception of part 6, most of the films had plenty of nudity. Makes me wonder if some of the people complaining had ever seen an F13 movie before.

There were GUYS complaining that there was too much nudity? I understand the phrase "too much" and the word "nudity" ... put them together, and the sentence is meaningless. I'm one of those that doesn't go for "horror" movies, but my wife does so I watch them occasionally. Usually the nudity is the only worthwhile moments in the movie (its the selling point the wife typically highlights to get me to watch them with her).

I rarely question the manhood of someone online ... but I have serious doubts about any guy that would complain about too much nudity in a movie. That's just retarded.

:lol Indeed. I don't know how any dude could complain about the blonde girl in that movie being naked but I did hear some complaints.

Very well said bro. I think people just want to complain and be purists and like the originals and hate the remakes for whatever reason. Even if it's for the same reason they like the originals :lol I am open to any and all. If it's good I watch it bottom line.
