Dead Snow - 7/10

I'm pretty burned out with zombie stuff at this point, but this one still managed to entertain thanks to the cheeky humor.

Ip Man 2 - 6/10

Chinese Rocky IV. Seriously, it's the same damn flick.

True Grit (2010) - 10/10

Better than the original, and that is no small feat.

Super 8 - 8.5/10, Really liked this one, different from most of the other stuff that's come out.

X-men First Class - 7.5/10, Everything's been said for this one, good movie, I liked it better than Thor.

Castaway on the moon: 7/10

You expect a dumb comedy and it was the first 30 minutes,but then it takes a huge turn and becomes a dead serious sad movie.Still good though.

Harry Brown -- 7.5/10. Not the best revenge movie out there, but good enough.

Die Hard 4 -- 9/10. Great movie. Classic McClane. Olyphant was a solid villain. I even liked the Mac guy as a foil to McClane. Wouldn't mind if they brought him back for 5.

Robin Hood (Crowe) -- 9/10. Very good. A lot like Gladiator and Braveheart ... but that's not necessarily a bad thing. Better than the Costner one. Costner's was too much of a chick flick.

Proof of Life -- 7.5/10. Good, but not great.

Taken -- 10/10.

Gran Torino -- 9.5/10 -- Clint is a badass. Dirty Harry returns. "Even notice how you occasionally come across somebody you shoudn't have _____ed with? That's me."

POTC 4: 5/10. Way too long, way over blown. Depp as Sparrow was still great, and McShane made a decent Blackbeard, but everyone else, including my usually beloved Barbossa, seemed awkward.

True Grit - 5 out of 10

Not sure what all the fuss was about. I found it pretty boring to be honest. Bridges was awesome in it. That's about it. IMO of course.

That's the third time in this thread that True Grit has gotten a 5 or 6 out of ten.

Did you guys expect it to be a gritty western and found that instead it was a character study? Have you guys seen the original?

I thought it was a great film.

I can understand why people don't like it. It's really a film focused on themes as much as characters. A film where the setting and the cinematography are as much a character as the people in the shots. Definitely not everyones thing. I'd give it a strong 8.5 out of 10.

See I would describe There Will Be Blood to be pretty similar but I loved that movie. This one not so much for some reason. And no I never saw the original.

Again Bridges was fantastic! Well worthy of Best Actor IMO.
