Captain America: 8/10

Just an all around kickass movie... really no major complaints; Marvel really did him justice :rock

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Psycho: 9/10
It was the first time I saw this. Even though I missed the first 20 minutes or so and I pretty much knew what was going to happen, it still was a very good watch! Can't wait to see it in it's entirety!

Yellow Brick Road - 0/10

Maybe I just didnt get it but this movie was nothing but crap. Apparently about an expedition for a town that basically just up and vanished some 70 years ago...not once did they really reference that in the story and it just turned into something totally different....Crap, I gave it a zero because I hated it so much I just wanted it to end.

Superheroes: 7.5 / 10.

An HBO documentary that aired this Monday, and I finally watched it off the DVR last night. Talk about an accident you can’t take your eyes off of…and that’s not in reference to the documentary itself, just the people profiled on the show. I seriously cannot fathom that if this was all a faux mockumentary / publicity stunt or if there are people out there who actually think they can dress up and be superheroes. There’s one dude in Orlando that calls himself Master Legend who is a drunk and obviously is delusional. Another dude in San Diego calls himself Captain Extreme (he’s the leader of the Extreme Justice League…of which he is currently the only member) and you can tell he really believes in his _____…but he’s so out of shape and has no skills at all that he’s bound to get himself killed. There’s a group of four (three men and one women) in New York that calls themselves the New York Initiative that are actually in shape and have martial arts training, but it seems to me that the use this as an excuse to beat up people. They send the girl out late at night to attract would be muggers / rapists and wait in the shadows, and they have an openly gay member who goes out dressed flamboyantly to attract gay bashers…but it smells a little bit like entrapment to me.

Bizarre, but interesting to watch if you have free time on your hand.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

You should at least mention that despite them being bat ____ing crazy they do a lot of unselfish humanitarian work at their own expense helping out a lot of people. I felt a bit ashamed sitting there laughing at these weirdos when that homeless woman was interviewed and put things a bit into perspective when she said, "These guys are real superheroes to us." I thought it was a poignant sentiment that changed the metaphor completely.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

You're correct, but writing a brief synopsis of the documentary I focused on the most extreme examples. You would have to agree that Master Legend, Captain Extreme, and the New York Initiative were focused on the most. But the individual who chose the name of Life and was helping homeless people was probably the "sanest" out of the one's profiled.

The only ones that weren't helping people were the 4 psycho-paths in Brooklyn. Don't get me wrong, they are all off their rockers, but I thought despite the entrapment gang, the other guys did a lot of good. Unfortunately a lot of the good could be used for themselves which they obviously neglected. Certainly an interesting doc.

Cocoon: 7/10
Surprised by how well this movie has held up... I really found myself enjoying it. Effects are the only thing that were pretty weak, but its not the focus of the film so not a real problem. Great performances from the cast... a great who's who of 80's senior citizen actors. Also didn't realize it was directed by Ron Howard... so it still holding up so well makes more sense.

Minority Report: 8/10
Just a solid sci fi flick, one I've always liked and enjoyed seeing again.

127 Hours: 9/10
I really had no intention of ever watching this, but after seeing it I was blown away. Such an amazing survival story and the one of the best films I've seen in a long while. Although due to its intensity I can honestly say I never need to see it again, in particular:
the scene where he is cutting the nerve in his arm is completely unnerving

The Bang Bang Club 8.5/10 I really enjoyed this. I had no expectations and never saw any trailers or read anything about it so I had no idea what to expect. All in all it was a great movie.
