Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

But it's a bad sign that they're going to do "Planes" in 2013.
Seriously?

I guess all companies give in to the vagaries of mass public commercial interests eventually. A real shame because, like you, I've been a long time Pixar fan since seeing Toy Story I in the theater, and felt that they were special movies with some integrity, even despite misses like (IMO) Monsters, Inc. and Cars. Oh, well.

I consider myself a Point Break fan. . .but 9/10?? Damn :lol

Yeah I enjoy it immensely. I watch it maybe once a year and never tire of it. Add a nostalgic value to that. All adds up in my realm of scoring

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Such a shame. But I think Galactiboy is right--they do these to rake in the dough. But even the first Cars was not nearly as bad as the second one. I always felt that Pixar had the rare talent to create movies that appealed to both the young and old. But with Cars 2 it looks like they gave up and just aimed it to kids. And it looks like Planes might be the same.

Brave looks good, though.

Agreed. Its all a marketing ploy ! Think of the products ! Toys, Happy Meals and more ! They know what they are doing. It is a business after all.

Sucker Punch: 7/10

Not as bad as I thought it would be. The action sequences were incredible, as was the whole look and feel. But yeah,
the multi layers of reality were excessive. Did we really need 3 planes of reality to tell the story? And I also thought it was comical how the action sequences would cut from when Baby Doll would start dancing, so we never see her dancing. It was a little silly. I will say that I thought the ending was pretty effective, with the villain turning out to be just an orderly (Was that established in the beginning? I didn't get that. I thought he was another doctor or a manager.), Sweet Pea escaping, and Baby Doll's lobotomy. That made up for a lot, IMO.

And HT should really have made Sweet Pea. She seems more like the number 2 of the movie. Or even Rocket. But Amber is kind of an odd choice since she seemed fairly low on the list of characters.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked - 1/10.

Ugh. Cross helped keep me from gouging my eyes out and puncturing my ear drums, and I thought things were starting to improve when the crazy chick shows up on the island. In fact, the highlight of the movie is her dancing in the background in the rain... I've seen the first two Chipmunk movies, and this is worse if you can believe that.

I agree completely on all levels.

I liked Sweet Pea the best.

I am glad I cancelled the GG piece and hope Sideshow follows through with her after BD.

Just Go With it - 9/10 Haven't laughed that hard in a long time. Even longer from a Adam Sandler movie.

Red Riding Hood - 7/10. Well done, surprisingly. Seyfried looked hot in it.

11-11-11 - 5/10

Lame horror movie about basically the end of the world with the devil coming back as an 11 year old boy... I gave it a 5 cause it was watchable, but the acting was crap.

Re: Rate The Last Movie You Watched.

Watched "Fast 5" -2/10. The stupidest movie l have ever seen. Vin Diesel is one of my favorite actors and l have every one of his movies, but this was total garbage in everyway, i did like 6 epic face palms while watching this movie. I am sorry to say but this movie is going back to the store and exchanging it for something else, l am also taking "Fast and Furious" out of my Diesel collection, that was the worst Diesel movie up till "Fast 5", Vin Diesle should be ____ing ashamed of himself. I never thought l would have to take some of his movies out of my collection but this has to be done.

I understand every actor l like had been in bad movies, it happens, but this was beyond bad and he thinks they are cool and is planning 6 and 7 :slap. There is only one Fast And Furious movie and that is the first. The others with Vin are gone from my collection. The Pacifier was better then the last 2 Furious movies.:slap:gah:

The Lost World: Jurassic Park: 7/10
Definitely my least favourite of the JP films. A lot of characters are annoying IMO. Only Ian Malcolm, Roland Tembo, Nick van Owen and Eddie Carr are pretty good characters, the rest not so much. Worst is the kid. The dinosaurs aren't nearly as cool either than in the first one.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think the film is bad, but compared to the first it's definitely the lesser.

I really liked this one, l thought is was a great sequal to the first (as good as a follow up story could be). I hated the third one though, nothing was good about that one.
