WAR HORSE 7/10. Good solid movie. Far better than the atrocious and painfully boring HUGO which I would give a 3/10.

Yes, that was the director's cut. I just love that he does indeed get saved, but the only way he is able to get "saved" from the miserable world is by going catatonic. I believe the love conquers all version cuts almost an hour of the film.

Wow an hour? That may have bumped up my score a bit. The movie was just to long of an agonizing mess for me.

Then again it is a matter of preference. I think it's best described as a "cult" classic, you just have to be the right person to enjoy it.

If you get a chance, watch the documentary "Battle of Brazil: a video history" - it is a fascinating account of the issues and battles between a film-maker who has a vision, and the studio executives who are only thinking about dollars.

and btw, totally different topic, but Daryl Dixon kicks ass! My favorite character of the show. Although I have only seen season 1 so far.

Yeah, Dixon is a badass. Dude, you gotta watch season 2. First couple episodes are a little slow, but ____ goes down. I was so hooked that I downloaded the episode's from iTunes cause I don't have AMC.

First and second episode are pretty awesome, same with the Daryl episode, then the mid season finale and everything from that point. There's only two eps that weren't the best. Still the best show on TV IMO.

It is fantastic. Not anything gangster related though. It about an ad agency in 1960s New York. Absolutely brilliant writing, acting, set design and details... and all accomplished with virtually no sex or profanity. Hey, I'm all about sex and profanity, but I have to applaud a show that can be so good entertaining without having to resort to any of that. This is unlike Spartacus, which is the exact opposite, but also brilliant.

Yes you do. It was a great film with top draw performances. Oldman being the standout. Made me proud to be British
