Mile 22 - 3 out of 10: Ugh. What could've been a fun action movie is ruined by A-hole characters that I hated and TERRIBLE EDITING! The movie was thrown into a lawnmower and pieced back together. You can't tell what the hell is going on half the time.

Mission Impossible: Fallout - 8 out of 10: Another great MI sequel. Some fun and exciting action and stunts. The story was interesting and the writing, directing, editing, and acting was really good. What I didn't like was a predictable twist in the story and one again, it was an all Ethan Hunt centered story. The team was there and had plenty to do, but I wish they would center MI movies more around the team and less about Ethan Hunt.

Equalizer 2 - 8 out of 10: A great followup to the original remake. They managed to recreate much of what made the first one fun and unique while at the same time made it fresh, more intense, larger scale, and have growth for Robert McCall. Great writing, direction, editing, acting and action. Loved the final battle sequence.

Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse 10/10

I heard the hype and thought it was pure hyperbole. An animated film THAT good?

Saw it yesterday by myself and I am glad that I did because I man-sniffled once, almost twice. This film not only breaks the boundary of just telling a comic book story as a cartoon, it feels like a living, breathing comic book story come to life on the screen. All the heart, all the character development offered in the best stories from comics brought to life by a medium that was utilized in a way never seen before. Sorry if that sounds pretentious, but it truly felt like a next step for animation telling these types of stories.

Not going to say anymore because as someone who is an artist and gets excited when I see something completely new and exciting, I'm going to sound like a douche. But honestly I can not recommend seeing this on the biggest screen you can and I hope you appreciate this beautiful film as much as I did. If they continue this Spider-Verse, there is seriously no story that could not be told. It opens the canvas to bring the best stories available and present them in a new way. If Sony continues this series I'll never complain about Spider-Man 3 and Amazing 2 ever again.

Venom - 7 out of 10: A fun and well made comic book movie that's mostly faithful to the comics. The writing, directing, and editing was good but nothing spectacular. The acting and special effects were great. The largest problem with this is the lack of Spider-Man, the shi-y music, and some of the dialogue was a turd in the wind, still a thousand times better than Spider-Man 3. Loved the reveal in the credits (perfect casting) and I'm looking forward to a sequel hopefully that will tie into Holland's Spidey and the MCU proper, which I don't see any reason why hey couldn't.

One note, the special featurettes suck. No McFarlaine and far too much of Kevin Smith and the producers. Smith was especially cringy in the features.
