Ok we've all had ample time to digest it.

I am going to give this a 7/10 purely because i didn't think we needed origin again. If this was the first SM movie ever? 8-8.5/10. Overall i feel we got a decent/good start to a new trilogy. (even if i feel the origin was not needed AT ALL)

I think we got a better Parker, better comical SM, more interesting/better Girlfriend, and most of all web-shooters :)

The sequel has the potential to be Amazing(now that origin is out of the way) pun intended, Just like SM2 was. Up to them to make it happen.

Re: Rate the Amazing Spider-Man

A six at best. Too much of a rehash. Too much CGI characters. Left the theater ho hum.

The first one is a seven point five. Left the theater excited to see Spidey on the screen.

Re: Rate the Amazing Spider-Man

It got a 9 from me. ASM completely met my expectations and is my preferred origin story.

Re: Rate the Amazing Spider-Man

I only saw it once, and haven't given it any thought since. I remember liking that school fight with the Lizard, and Emma Stone's nice to look at so... 5? :dunno

9/10

  • Casting was great all round.
  • Effects and action scenes were top knotch. He moved as a perfect wallcrawler
  • The costume was a great mix of classic elements (Red/Blue/Spider Logos/Lens') but looked modern and sleek.
  • Webshooters
  • Better Humour while as Spider-Man
  • Lizard looked great, was a huge menacing villain & had a few scenes with the labcoat for fanservice
  • Captured the essense of the character (People close to Peter die)

Second best Spider-Man movie and best Superhero movie of 2012, due to its great balance of fun and drama not just one or the otherl

3/10

Weak acting all around, and I hated that the story was a carbon copy of the original. Very forgettable. Cgi was decent though.

5/10 Pretty much crap all the way around. It was Spiderman aimed for airheaded kids in high school

I didn't vote a 1. I voted a 2. Because the film had 2 minutes I found enjoyable.

Anyway, it's just a dull looking movie, not much happens, it doesn't feel like it was that different from the Raimi films, outside of being "OMGZ SEROUSSS".

It was just a boring, dull, joyless experience in watching a cheap cash in.

If this movie waited longer, it wouldn't been hated so much. It just came out too quickly, and felt like zero heart was put into it.

:exactly:

Every year... One or Two superhero movies get the love and 'best thing since sliced bread' overhype and then there's one people ganghate on

:thwak at the fool who voted 1/10 (was probably a certain raimi-fanatic)

Raimi's were better IMHO. Even the effects were better in them, and that should NEVER be the case with a more modern interpretation.

Meh I agree I felt more for the first one becuase it was the first time we saw spidey on the big screen. The music was good, the effects were awesome and it was just a good movie. With this I have a feeling people will love the sequals since they got the whole origin thing out the way. To be honest I dont think they should of made an origin movie again. They could of said he was bitten through the opening credits. Still liked the movie but I think the sequals will be a whole lot better than this one. But it wasnt at all a bad movie like alot of raimi freaks proclaim it to be.

I gave it a 6.

The positives:
I like the people playing Peter and Gwen. I even liked Leary as Capt Stacy

but...

Spiderman has one of the coolest most enduring costumes of all time, should have kept it. Whether the ASM is "cool" or not, it wasn't a necessary upgrade.

No JJJ in a Spiderman movie? WTF?

The movie overall just didn't have an epic feel. It just seemed like a "cool" summer flick, not how a Spidey movie should be.
