Never understood why origin stories make people so butt hurt. They're remaking the series, so why wouldn't they remake his origin? I can understand someone like Batman not needing an origin film, but it's more integral for a character like Spiderman imo.

Yep, Captain America TFA redid an Origin, Batman Begins redid an origin. Man of Steel is redoing an origin.

I see it as a way to re-introduce the movie version of the character to a new generation.

My nephews haven't seen SM1 but they have seen ASM (and loved it :wink1:)

The retelling of the origin was for their benefit and the rest after Spidey saves the kid on the bridge was for all of ours.

I hated Sally field as aunt may the rest of the movie was o.k. I gave it a 7 liked Dennis Leary and Emma stone good actors. The 1st original spidey movie was perfect casting and always be my favorite ,then spidey 2 as my 2nd fave. This new spidey has a lot to live up to. You''ll never get another BONESAW aka machoman scene that scene was AMAZING with SPIDERMAN . Let them redo venom again please correctly sometime. The only thing they improved was the webslinging in AMAZING SPIDERMAN that i realy liked. Love my spiderman so he has a lot to live up to for me to be happy with it. I should have voted a 6 .

Is that any less bizarre than you giving it a 9/10? Giving it that score indicates that you think that the ASM is near perfection.:dunno

He did rename himself from HULKsomething or other to Webb Head cause of his undying love for the movie/director apparently, so I'm honestly surprised he didn't give it a 10/10. :dunno

I've never liked Tobey Maguire so that spoilt the whole trilogy for me. As movies they were otherwise great (yes, even SM3!)

ASM was a welcome reboot - Andrew Garfield is more how I'd envisage Peter to look.

Machoman was so camp and ham heavy it was ridiculous.

"Bonnnnne sahw ees riddy" :slap :yuck

Those two were good, but the majority of fans hate her.

Doc Ock and JJJ were the only perfect casting. ASM has got perfect Peter and Gwen so far.

Meh so what he doesn't know anything about spiderman and acts like raimi created the character. Asm may not be original but raimi's wasn't uber perfect.

Nor was this one. There weren't many differences in the origin from Raimi's meaning... *gasp* ...Raimi's must have been pretty faithful to the comics as far as the origin goes!

I've said it before, I'll say it one last time until another lame topic about this movie comes up, this would have been far more enjoyable had it not been redundant of the original films. It spent close to an hour on an origin with a new Peter who I thought was a total unlikeable ******. I was hoping the sequels would improve, but from the rumors, it sounds pretty lame. I'll reserve final judgement for the actual movies though.

I don't get this ****** thing? Was he a ****** Becuase he was smart to the cops? Something he's done millions of times, was he a ****** because he stole oscorp tech, again something he has done in the comics to improve his suit against bad guys or is it the way he carried himself. I don't get this asm was a ****** thing?

However when he broke his promise to Gwen's dad, then yea I agree that was a **** move.

The ONLY time he was the least bit douchy was mouthing off the the cop that one scene.

And even then....that's how Spider-Man is at times. He can be witty/cocky/douchy/everything in-between/whatever people want to call it. I've read the comics off and on for quite sometime and I don't understand why people have such a problem with him being 'douchy.' If that's the case, then I'd hate to see what they think about the source material where the character came from because this movie portrayal of him isn't out of 'left field' like some tend to believe.

Read below.

Captain America TFA rebooted & re-did an Origin, Batman Begins rebooted & re-did an origin. Man of Steel is rebooting & redoing an origin.

Reboots and origins happen and will continue to happen.

Even the blessed ACU will have to reboot soon enough.

It's almost like people believe spiderman is a whiney ***** who cries over woman like in the raimi films. Asm Peter may not be everyone's cup of yea but tobeys wasn't all that great to begin with
