I like the tobey as spiderman better, he looked the part, this guy just isn't peter parker to me, he just don't look like he did in the comics to me. I do like the webshooters better, not a fan of the webs coming out of the wrist thing tobeys spiderman had. Overall the movie was enjoyable. Rating 7 I guess fits:dunno

That's because Raimi's PP is based off of 60's PP, and Webb's is based off of Ultimate Spider-Man PP.

Nah I preferred Tobey's webshooters. I actually found it more plausible that they just came with the mutation rather than Peter making them from technology.

Etherway is fine, I just prefer the web shooters, it kinda shows off what a genius parker is supposed to be, And I like the problems he runs into when he runs outta fluid at the damnest time:lol

I gave it a 9.

I'm a huge Spider-man fan. I've loved the original 616 series and the Ultimate series as well. The movie actually exceeded my expectations and Garfield matched Spidey to a T. The more modern-esque Ultimate version which I had grown to like and appreciate.

Tobey was a great Spider-man as well. However, I was never a big fan of his monotone, mumbling voice. It was actually the first thing I thought of when they cast him as Spidey. And Kirsten Dunst just seemed to have gotten worse and less hot as the series went on. Kudos to James Franco for playing a great Harry Osborn. Willem Dafoe is always an awesome villain and Alfred Molina is the splitting image of Doc Ock. Picture-perfect casting was JK Simmons as Jameson. VERY hard to top that performance. I could go on.

I wish Spider-man 3 would've held it all together better but oh well. I'm overly happy with the ASM cast and movie so far and can't wait to see the next one!

Agreed, plus it's comic accurate.

Shame about the results. It's an 8/10 at the very least

Pretty close to my thoughts as well.

I give it an 8. It's the best movie with Spider-Man. I thought the first Spider-Man was too predictable. Kind of like the first two Harry Potter movies. Green Goblin was a missed opportunity too. Especially after seeing the test footage with the other mask some months back. Spider-Man 2 had great action sequences. But the whole love sick thing with MJ wasn't fun to me. The less said about Spider-Man 3 the better...Very predictable from the last shot of Spider-Man 2. Amazing has flaws but it gets the Spider-Man character more than the other movies. Which is one of the most important things in a Spider-Man movie.

5/10

Gwen and Peter sections were great, but the Spider-man portions were weak. Lizard was a terrible villain and looked terrible. Just want to note that i really didn't like the Raimi movies either.

I should be watching this tonight for the first time , I'm not sure what I'll think but I've always been a fan of the first two original Spider-man movies.

And Willem Dafoe as Green Goblin.

He was good, but there's room for much improvement

Wow CelticPredator, a 2? Never thought I'd see the day.

As i said before if this was the first SM movie ever it woulda been awesome. And i woulda gave it at least an 8. But it just didn't need to happen. (origin) That said, i liked it better as a start than the Raimi version. Much better PP, better girl, web-shooters, better spider humor etc.

The have everything in place to make an awesome sequel. Will they? (Look how much better SM2 was compared to 1, i expect the same here)

When were another 10 years down the road and have 3-4 or more in this series, I'll be even happier with the fact that it has it's own origin.

Very good point.

People need to face facts that reboots are a neccessity come a certain point. Retelling the origin isn't but it helps set up the new continuity.

Meh so what he doesn't know anything about spiderman and acts like raimi created the character. Asm may not be original but raimi's wasn't uber perfect.
