Re: Rate The Hobbit

9, but I don't like HFR after this one experience, and I'm looking forward to seeing it the old fashioned 2D way. And also owning on bluray...

Re: Rate The Hobbit

I kinda don't know why everyone was bashing the IGN review now. I agree with almost all of it.

Great Movie, but just shy of LOTR epic. Gotta see it one more time!!

Re: Rate The Hobbit

Not rating.

I enjoyed it. Is it as good or better than LOTR? No. But I'd be lying if I didn't get chills or a great sense of excitement seeing this world and characters.

It has problems, but I think the reviews for it have definitely been too harsh. For entertainment, I was entertained. It did it's job. There are some bits I could watch over and over again, i.e. Riddles in the Dark.

So why aren't you rating it?

Waiting to watch it again?

Aww c'mon!

It just didn't draw me in. I ended up not caring about most of the characters, especially Bilbo, or even how PJ developed the story.

7 for now, until I see it in a format that didn't make it look like it cost about 15 bucks to produce.

8 - solid movie. Score is as much about the source material as anything. If you loved LOTR, you are gonna have a great time with the Hobbit, me thinks

Gave it a 9 but that's after one 3D 24fps viewing. After every LOTR film I needed time to digest it but I loved so much of this and save for some Radagast visuals can't really think of a single thing I'd change. I could see this being a 10 (and I don't give out many 10's after LOTR, Raiders, and ESB) after a few more viewings and discovering new things to love about it.

The scenes they *had* to nail like Riddles in the Dark they knocked out of the park and that is huge. Then they went the extra mile and made silly scenes in the book actually cool on film.
