I'm enjoying it so far.

It's kinda weird because most of the time the mature content is kept to a minimum like something you'd see on basic cable and then suddenly there's random ****s and stuff more akin to an HBO or showtime series.

Lawyer: “I can ruin your life with one phone call.”
Reacher: “I can end your life with one phone”.
😂
Good series but the ending was cliched. Every good guy at the end battle was able to give justice/comeuppance to their opposite number. Paul turning into a crack shot with no experience was an eye roller.

Yeah, it would have been better if Paul just unloaded the whole clip and took out the guy with random luck.

A big fan of the books and loved the first Jack Reacher flick. Sure Tom physically didn't match the Book Reacher but he gave a good performance. And some of his best lines in that flick. The car chase was awesome too.

5 ep in and this show has been very good. Sure everything is pretty cliché but, that is Jack Reacher books. The show has the campy characters and dialogue. Alan Ritchson has the mannerisms down and defiantly looks the part. The only thing missing from the books is Reacher intricately describing what he is going to do and what happens to the other person when he does it during the fight scenes.....

I don't dislike the movies, but I have to pretend it's a different character as he's just too dissimiliar from the book character.

Too bad we can't bring the rest of the guys next season. Love the Finlay actor ever since IZombie, I love that he loves Kansas rock band and Wayward son ( Supernatural feels) and the overall banter with Reacher on his physique was hilarious

Finished this the other day, mostly as a guilty semi-pleasure.
I see a lot of you guys really enjoyed it, but I have to say it had me rolling my eyes almost every ten minutes. It's ridiculously devoid of any logic or semblance of realism as far as the actual story goes. Are the books as badly written as these scripts?
I get that it's pretty campy, but on the other hand it tries to be somewhat grounded and real, so it sort of fails in both aspects IMHO. It's pure 80's Arnold/Sylvester/van Damme/Lundgren type of action without the blissful naiveté of the era. And while I suppose that 5'7" Cruise in nowhere near what the character is supposed to be like, at least he has the acting ability to deliver those cheesy lines and make them believable.

I'm not sure I'll watch Season 2, but who knows, it might catch me as lacking anything better to do as Season 1 did :lol

I used to think Arnie was a giant too!

There's lots of references throughout the series to Reacher being freakishly big, so they're using the other characters to try and make you disbelieve your eyes.
If the actor is 6' 2" playing 6' 5" that shouldn't be that difficult to believably stretch in Hollywood where so many actors are pretty short. I'm 5' 9" and I can tell you that 6' 2" or 6' 5" all seem pretty tall from down here! :)

It's kinda goofy but I'm enjoying it. Very 80s in terms of what he gets away with.

I'm on episode 4 and it's very hard to stay focused as my worlds are colliding on this one. I know one of the actors who just popped up (used to work with them) and I worked on the Margrave set recently when it was re-purposed for another show; so I keep getting taken out of the story.

Not sure how most people feel about the film version, but the Amazon Studios version was to me a very true to book adaption of Reacher as a character. Holding out hope for the possibility that Season 2 brings some third party manufactures to the table to create a 1/6 Jack Reacher. Thoughts?

As a fan of the books ("Persuader" being my favorite) was ecstatic after the travesty of Cruise's self-insert.
Very happy there will be more of IMO solid adaptation.:love

Trying to ratchet down my collecting, so don't think I would pick up a 1/6 - depends on how well it was done.

A 1/6 Reacher would be lit. Big fan of the books, enjoyed the movies but yeah pretend that they aren’t Reacher and one episode away from finishing the show and loving it a perfect encapsulation of what makes the books great. Just a great pulpy ride. I’m just surprised this thread is only 2 pages.

It look good can't wait for it, I'm actually suprised that no Third party try to make figure of this Reacher.

The first season was pretty decent. Looking forward to this.
I'm ecstatic. Just when Loki winds up and outside of Dune there doesn't seem to be anything on the horizon, so this is excellent. Looks like each season is an adaptation of one of the books - tho this is one of the later books I think - this one looks like it's based on "Bad Luck and Trouble".

Yeah the first season was surprisingly good, so looking forward to the second.

Although I still don't get the show's obsession with how big a guy Reacher is. I know that comes from the books but the actor doesn't look that exceptionally tall so it's a bit cringey hearing it constantly brought up. Lol

They were probably just excited they had someone man sized rather than petite Tom Cruise.
I like Tom but I still find it funny they cast him as Reacher, a character well known for his size.
