I know it sucks but Axe is right. This was up for sale for along time. You all had the chance to buy the version you wanted. If you didn't get the DX you either A: didn't have the money or B:didn't have faith in the project. Plain and simple. If we start upgrading sets where does it end?

Off topic. I love his figure. A pure home run! Easily iminime's best offering by far. So much attention and detail went into this peice and it shows with flying colors. I never intended to have two Batemans but I cant see wasting either look. They both have to be done!

I'm working with the overcoat look at the moment cause he just looks so damn sinister in it. Saving the Raincoat for the screaming head when I get the rest of the necessary pieces.

Looks sick with the gloves fellas! I have to mod some more Red Skull gloves to work better for Bateman.


Here's something I did a while ago for Iminime's Ra's. Red Skull gun grip hand modded to be a better look for a sword grip hand (knife in this case).

I did the heat & freeze trick several times and for some reason it was permanent so finally I shaped it after heating it and just super glued it in place.

I love how everyone says us folk that want to upgrade never had faith in the project. This is not the case. Based off of the prototype pictures, I stand by my decision of only going for the full set. After seeing the huge leap in quality and fitting of the overcoat from people that had received the dx (which was our first opportunity to see the finished product and certainly the only indication of the type of improvement that had been made) it was too late to pick up the dx set.
Lastly people are talking about this being the start of changing the way these figures come to be. If I'm not mistaken, originally these custom figure makers would offer up projects that they wanted to do and that was that. With the iminime fight club project, I wrote to Denny and basically said if I get you 50 people, will you consider making this set. He agreed. I posted the thread and got some heat from fellow collectors about the way I had gone about making the list to convince Denny. It now seems that this is the way that that a lot of collectors do things now. The game changed and it is better for all parties. Hell axe, you did this exact same thing to get this project going even though you were against me doing it for fight club at the time. All I'm saying is, how can we possibly know the level by which the quality will increase without any visual reference? Are we really the ones at fault?
Do you guys see what I'm saying? This upgrading business is not a threat IN THIS INSTANCE.

I bought the chainsaw the same day as the figure and didn't know about a possible accessory pack then.

I'm more than happy to wait and get that than find odd bits for him

The Faith bit maybe overstated but it does come to peoples mind simply because some did go ahead with their order inspite of the bulky pics. Because Denny did state that the fitting would be better. I know its a huge risk to and dont blame anyone that didnt order. But hey, thats the part of the game.

Secondly, yes interest lists are done (and for the record I didnt want to stop you from making a Fight Club list, I just wanted to ask you if you had Denny's premission to open an interest list, because I always worked that way. Yes some people did make interest lists without asking him earlier, nothing wrong with that, but thats just my personal policy and also this was like couple of years back and I didnt think that at that time Iminime could produce a figure that would not rival what people could bash at that point of time - however now how they have evolved throws that idea out of the window) and you know they are only used to gauge interest now.
What changed from previous interest list policy was that in the first time they used an exclusive interest list (one where the interested people would become the confirmed buyers became a bomb as people dropped out at the last minute - The Demon - since then interest list only serve as a greenlight for projects not confirmed buyer lists)

So interest lists were always there for Iminime's projects be it their first Michael Corleone or now. Only thing is they are not confirmed buyer lists anymore. Just a market survey. So I dont see what game changing is being referred to.

The issue I said is, since every set is accounted for and numbered and separated for a reason just like a Rainman release, so why will suddenly upgrades for sets be offered in that same model? The segregation gives it its uniqueness. After someone buys a H&C Rainman set can they pay the balance and get a Rainman painted sculpt and body? No.

Game changes of this magnitude is being referred to. The Upgrading business wouldnt be a threat say in the case of the original Somerset from Se7en figures. Because the other head was offered as an upgrade by itself - made to order, no limit on that.
Please understand my point its about changing a set after its done, nothing to do with interest lists or anything of that sort.

Cowboy buyers can then argue that they can be upgraded to DX from regular if they pay the balance. So where will it stop is my question? And if you accommodate one, what justification can you give to not accommodate another release?

Just note that this ZCWO body is REALLY tall. It's slightly taller than my suited Jules that I have on a TT with long foot pegs. Just a note on the stock body.

Anyone who is just bashing just the sculpt will have to figure out what's what with the body & suit of their choice. But yea, a TT narrow is usually a good way to go for most of the generic suits on the market

The suit does not fit too nicely on the hot toys narrow. I tried. Best to stick to the ZCWO body. The rain coat will probably look fine on a narrow though.

Axe, all I'm saying is that a huge improvement was made that pretty much no one saw coming and by the time we got to see it there was no option of ordering it. That is my issue. That is the only reason I would bring this idea up and only for this release. If it were a small improvement then I would stick to my first thoughts and be more than happy with the regular set but after seeing the overcoat and the fitting (the tasteful thickness of it ) I don't just feel like I missed out, I feel as though I wasn't given the proper information to make my decision. How this is sorted out, I don't know. Certainly in the future to avoid this from happening, pre ordering should not happen until you have seen exactly what you are getting.
I don't know about every custom figure maker but I'm pretty sure changes are made, new pics put up and then let the pre ordering begin.
I also have been reading people's comments saying "all of you regular set folks that want to upgrade etc etc" and don't like being put in to a group or labelled and this is why I am writing the words you're reading (not directed at you axe)
I've said my thoughts on it, I asked a question and we've got some interesting views/concerns.

You didn't do anything wrong and you went about the thread just fine. Things were a little different back then but that's the kind of company Iminime wanted to be and nowadays that type of thread is the norm for their interest lists.

And I definitely get you about the faith vs. what you see with your own eyes deal. There are loyalists here (myself included) that have been taking little leaps of faith for better or for worse for a while now with iminime. Sometimes it paid off, sometimes it didn't. I want to continue to be a loyal fan but I DO want to start to see pics before PO and pics of the final before shipping. I love Denny as a person but this is business and it's a lot to ask of people to drop $600 (in this case; non VIP + shipping) based on trust and a promise. It would benifit both parties anyway. There would be more confident and less hesitant purchases from buyers and that will lead to faster sell outs.

I have my opinions of the unwritten rules of the game but I'm not going to get too involved in this debate. I rather focus on getting this expansion pack popping. I know people still have to get it off of their chests so continue with that topic till it's out of everyone's system and don't mind me... I'll be posting about the pack and working around you guys

Very honestly the priority accessories in my opinion and specially those in terms of feasibility of what Denny can/maybe offer us without making the set too expensive is

1. Nail Gun
2. Walkman and headphones
3. Rolex TwoTone Datejust with jubilee band
4. Brick Phone
[all can be 3d sculpted now]

as for his sunglasses, modding them to fit the sculpt may be an issue because the sculpt really keeps little room to balance them.

and the next ones Ill consider after the previous priority ones are
1. Handgun
2. Videotape
and if you guys think its cool... a 1/6 American Psycho first edition book?
