Prefer iminme over rainmans to stylized for me great sculpter though .

Not stylized for me, rather too expensive. Plus it's just 20 that he'll make. At least with Denny taking this up a lot of us here can get him.

You ever think this could be done in 1/6?

The visiting card should be a piece of cake.

That's pretty awesome. There are a good handful of guys who have done 1/6 paper goods at an amazing quality level. Was it Beto or someone else who did a really sick Necronomicon? The cards can be done easily but you get a lot more detail in a 1/6 book than you would on a card.

I'd like to see the newspaper/wood floor as the base as opposed to the card base. The newpaper base is like a mini dio. I thought the idea for the COA to resemble the card was really cool.

I had the 18 inch bateman that came with the buisness card and it was hard to make out what was on it so 1/6 scale would be pointless imo.
A 1/1 card idea as shown is the best way to go.
The newspaper/wooden base stand is a great idea but if it's limited to a hot toys stand it might look a bit cramped.
The neca 7 inch one came on a square base with newspaper print looked good AND CAME WITH NAILGUN
Still have mine will fish it out to look at the nailgun for reference pics as I want one even if I have to make it myself.
Same goes with the raincoat how hard can it be?

Making the stand his card would probably be an interesting idea too. The base of the stand has the card's information and it would be painted white to match it too. Could be a cool unique approach.

I have that Neca fig too and that's exactly the style of base I was refering to. Of course it would have to be bigger than a standard HT. I was thinking more like a HT DX. A little bigger would be even better! Like 1'sq or something.

But it's all for convo sake because we're not going to get anything like that from Iminime. At least not included. Actually they were interested in doing a limited lobby scene dio for Neo so maybe they would offer a very limited 1'x1' base for an extra charge.

yeah but if we have to choose between a base or an extra sculpt, i'm with the sculpt. frankly i'd take a lot less items for a focused/cold glare

Like I said, minor things like all the Paper stuck with tape, small 1/6 business card and even a walkman, can surely be done later in small runs for those interested by the numerous talented custom artists in the board. Let iminime focus on the basic figure and clothing... there is a long time left so lets just be patient and see what new updates we get over time...

Also heres a pic of the sculptor Ms. Hyun Ji Kim working on the sculpt... from the small pic I think I can see a some refinement from the first WIP pictures, specially in the hairline and jaw (smoothening him out I suppose)

well i will definitely cop to much ripley love. i've got her Aliens HT. i don't know that i would say she's more deserving of a DX than Vice President Bateman though. i mean if for no other reason than her character is a rugged survivor and badass warrior in a limited situation, and his is a materialist to the Nth degree....
but maybe iminime will be moving into permanent DX territory and have the option available for all sets from now on.

Come on Sam this character has DX written all over it! What do you want to see in a Ripely DX?

I just want the two heads for two display looks. The long hair will appeal to fewer collectors due to poseability, but that's even more of a reason for a DX IMO--the DX isn't essential for all collectors.

As for why she's more deserving, c'mon now.

I guess what's more deserving is really subjective. There are characters that I'd like 4 different sculpts for and other people wouldn't even want one

The Ripely thing is a tough one. I'd like the long hair sculpt a lot better I think but the loss of poseability does suck.

The 18 inch figure had a better likeness I reckon. Had a few and loved the sound feature as it had many phrases from the film.
Sold them though as prices where good and am more interested in 1/6 but might have to get another.
Maybe we can have the movie sound samples in the dx version?

I have started on his walkman using the barbie one that many have used for marty mcfly.
I agree the sculpt is the most important thing here and should be the focus, so it's different and as good as possible but you can't help get excited about having a good representation of bateman.
I'd love to have about 4 different heads for the expressive nature of his face in this character, but that is being unreasonable I know.
2 is a push lets just see what the lady can bring out of the sculpt
Look forward to seeing more progress.
