My WIP diorama...

I'm recreating the back corner of Patrick Bateman's apartment.

The dio is huge. 22" deep, 18.5" wide, 18" tall. It's going in an IKEA PAX shelf so it's tailor made. Despite the large size it is still not perfectly accurate and to scale because otherwise the back sliding glass doors would be longer than the diorama itself. It's still hasn't been glued. I'm pretty sure that the near column on the right wall is too thick as the shelving space is not wide enough. Gotta fix that.

Bare in mind this is my FIRST diorama project. EVER. LOL. I had never really used a power tool before embarking on this.

Whoa! That's gonna be sick! I can already see it coming together. That Terrace is a great touch. Are you going to put some kind of Manhattan skyline cutout against it?

Of course. That's why there's back lighting in there. I'm going to print out the skyline on photopaper using a high resolution image.

Exactly. Also I hope to get the entertainment center up to snuff too. AND the telescope will be by the window. Also the speaker in the corner, although the space isn't all the way there for it I think a little creative license is okay.

That's looking like a good start Omar! There's nothing wrong with improvising a little especially when space is the main variable. You'd need a lot of space to make it accurate to scale. It would have to be +/- double that size.

As it is the thing is HUUUUGE. lol. I'll have to take a picture of my Bruce Wayne inside of it. The door opening is 13.5" tall. A 1/6 figure could easily fit in the opening alone.

I've already got my acrylic pieces that I'm using for the sliding glass door and the glass shelves. I have the vertical blinds material sorted out. Even the railing for the balcony I've got figured out. Now its about execution. Which to be honest... I've messed up quite a few pieces of MDF Board with inaccurate cuts and bad routing. lol.

That was basically what I was thinking of, you can search "barbie television" or "barbie furniture" and a bunch of sets in different sizes will come up.

Alright cool!

In terms of the window view... These are my options

I want something in right perspective (although if you look at the pic of bateman doing yoga in front of his window the buildings are obviously not in the right perpective. You can see the roofs of some. Which means they are either built at an angle, Bateman's building is at an angle (and he's got special gravity powers), or he's in a dream inception style.

Either way I think once the glass and the blinds are up it will achieve the look i need.
