Rebel Fleet Trooper 12" figure

I just picked him up tonight from a local shop and I like him. Yeah the helmet is a little big but he is a cool figure. Here are a few quick pics post water treatment. The boots are nice and soft.

He looks more like the proto in your pics than the SS ones.

Helmet's a bit large but maybe some heating and squeezing will fix that.

Besides the helmet, the shirt collar and the vest are significantly bigger as well. The outfit will definitely benefit from a "water treatment". I wonder if the "Tomy" helmet would work?...

With the production picks up I assume that its now in the warehouse or will be early next week. Should hopefully start shipping next week! My $$ is ready!

I definatly see the difference between the proto and the production piece. The Helmet is a bit big , the headsculpt is the same , its either the paint or the lighting thats throughing ot off.

Dang I wish he was more of the flesh color than pale whitish yellow he is now, I'm still getting him but damn the helmet needs to be smaller.

That's so sad. The proto was such an awesome looking figure, especially considering he was such a minor character. Even the sculpt looks different somehow.

Ive been waiting so long for this figure to be sent out. Really looking forward to it as I was gonna upgrade my custom with specific parts, from this, but I wont be using an SSC Rebel Trooper Helmet.

Im getting more and more disillusioned with SSC's Star Wars 1/6 th figures. When a custom I did 6 months ago looks just as good as their offerings released now its time to start re-evaluating were I spend my monies.

They do a fantastic job with Boosh, ANH Obi etc. and then its like they just give up and dont bother with some of the others ! I mean wheres the attention to detail going, certainly doesnt seem to be on the final figure ?

It bugs me how I thinking Im buying the figure on the left as thats in mind when I order one and the figure on the right shows up on my doorstep !

I have been considering keeping my Tomy Mini Helm on my custom rather than buying a parted out SSC helm to replace it ? but the Tomy (tad to small) or the final SSC helm (too big) seem to be opposite sides of the accurate prototype

More I see the images the less I like it... guess this will be getting the axe. Too bad as I really liked the proto, but the larger helmet and tailoring changes just don't work.

Interestingly, Sideshow has added a new feature to their site that allows you to give them feedback on WHY you are canceling an item. And the options are good: Funds, Delay in Production, Final Quality of Production Figure (this is the one I chose for this guy), and more. There is even an open field to add your own comments.

Way to hotlink a crappy picture IJ, . But just like most SSC dollies you have to see them in person to really appreciate the quality. I took a few morning pics to illustrate my point. If I could only bring that collar down some, I mean is he Indy? No, but still a very cool figure IMO. Also check out the helmet tilt in these pics...I think it adds a little more character.

But I saw him in person at my LCS and... Eh. Not horrible, but not worth 70 bones either. I ordered him at SDCC because the prototype really thrilled me. But the production came out rather pedestrian. Again: CANCELED.
