Burn in doesn't happen much at all anymore, the newer Plasma's have technology built in to prevent it. I have had no problems whatsoever with burn in.

I have a slight burnin of an ESPN logo when screen is all white that says otherwise on a 6 month old TV. But I do watch A LOT of ESPN.

Meh. I'm anti-Samsung after 2 Tvs that have died in the past 3 months.

~~Do you have a price range? I'm asking because Sears of all places is having a sale, and I just picked up an LG 50" Plasma for $850. So far I've watched 3 movies on it and it looks outstanding so far.

What kind of sale is Sears having?

love my sony bravia

Considering that is the retail price and you can get that tv for around $900, I would like to see a 60" plasma for $900. :wave

I"m going off the price on Samsung's site..the link in the first post. There's a 60" plasma on sale for the same price the 40" Samsun is listed for in the link. Even so, I'd pay the $300 difference for 20" of screen. Retail will be different from store to store by their sales/special offers.

I've been holding off on an HDTV for too long, and am not looking forward to looking into all the advantages, etc of Plasma, LCD, and LED.

But that's the price I'll pay if it means being able to read in-game text in my 360 games, who have given up completely on making it legible for standard-def TVs.

It Did Not Cost Me That Price($970 W/3year Insurance):wink1:....... & The Image of that 60" (At That Price Range) I Bet 100% will Look Way Inferior.....:)

~~As for the picture quality comparison. Whatever it takes to help you sleep at night.:rolleyes2 You probably can't tell the difference on that tiny screen. :(

Ok..... You Seem An Expert:wink1:...... Keep Your Giant Screen or The old Crappy Cheap Tv You Must Have and Enjoy it.....:pfft:..... & Just For The Record That is Not my Main Tv ;)..... But I would not Like to humiliate you in Public.....:wave

Samsung LED televisions are awesome..getting one soon.

I surprised my rents with one this year. I'm taking the 47 LG with me to school and had to get them a replacement. I love the 240hz. Everyone else hates it but I think it looks cool as hell. Pixar movies look absolutely amazing, I watched Monster's Inc. last night on the new one and you could see and probably count each individual hair on sully.:lol
