You got that right! I'd rather ride a horse across the wild west, than drive a car in "Liberty City" aka New York. That's me though. I've always had a fantasy since I was a little boy to be a cowboy. :)

But couldn't you say that about almost any game series? There's only so many mission styles you can try, before you have to start playing similar missions.

One thing that is different from GTA in terms of missions, are the horse-breaking and cattle herding missions. I didn't enjoy them that much, but it does show that this western game does have something different to work with, than compared to GTA4.

Also, you get to ride horsies!!!!!! :rock

You could, but most game series don't get as repetitive as some GTA games have in the past.

Once you clear all the missions, single player gets a bit boring. I wish you could actually drive the train, kind of a bummer just like in the GTA games, i always wished you could fly the big jets.

I have to agree with you here. After hitting 100% I tried to back into the single player to pick up some trophies, but I just wasn't feeling it. Luckily the free roam is a blast, especially with a friend, so that will keep me playing.

Some great news for those with connectivity issues, I think! I haven't gotten to try out this patch myself, but Title Update 1.02 is supposed to fix a couple of bugs, including some related to connectivity issues.
It was released today on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network. All you need to do is connect to internet and boot up the game, and the patch will download and install all by itself. Here's a list of the changes the patch will bring to the game:
Resolved various NAT incompatibility issues
Improved connectivity to multiplayer for users with slower connections
Improved reporting for Shootout and Gang Shootout games
Fixed instance where Mo Van Barr would not appear as a bounty
Fixed multiplayer titles not appearing for some users in the outfitter
Fixed instance where lawmen stopped responding even though the player was wanted
Fixed Issue with hogtied victims disappearing when ragdolled
Fixed crash in Free Mode when cooking dynamite and going into the water
Fixed audible glitch at the end of some cutscenes
Fixed Solomon's Folly Action Area not ending after posse leader teleports in late
Corrected Social Club 100% Tracker so stats update properly
Various multiplayer issues addressed including load screen hang-ups and UI glitches
Eliminated miscellaneous game crashes
In addition, the patch brings on a new game mode for Multiplayer, the Hardcore Free Roam mode. In this mode, only expert targeting is allowed. This playlist will be available as soon as Rockstar knows that the patch is fully functional.

Tried it yesterday spartan and didn't notice any kind of a change. Still had issues connecting. Made sure to check everything out on my end and it was open and ready to go.

Really hope the patch helps me. My NAT is set to strict and I cant figure out how to fix it.
So far I havent been able to play multiplayer in RDR:(

I can confirm that the patch did, in fact, fix the Mo Van Barr issue. The very first bounty I obtained in Armadillo after installing the patch was Mo, which allowed me to finally obtain my Deadly Assassin outfit.

I have completed approx 25 percent of the single player mode. My question is, once I beat the game 100 percent-does it end and I have to start over or can I still wander around doing what I want?

What is the actual percentage of the main story line? I know in GTA the main story line wasn't 100% but 100% was ALL of the secondary things you could do.

Another question.

How far into the game do you get access to the north east and south west areas?

I have been too busy getting the challenges that I think I am to the point where I need to be in areas I cannot reach yet to complete them.

You have to complete all the main story lines in that area before you can have access to the next area. Mexico is second then New Elizabeth (the Great Plains/Tall Trees) is last.

You can NOT complete the challenges until you get access to all areas.

That is correct.....but it goes by fast. Plus once in Mexico you can work on getting the necessary bounties/treasure chests/survival flowers/etc...if you are going for 100% and the survivalist and treasure hunter challenges.

I am definitely going for completing all of the challenges that is for sure.

In traditional Rockstar style, you are able to continue playing the single-player campaign once the story is complete. So it is not necessary to complete all the secondary objectives before finishing the storyline - you can always do them afterwards.

The missions take up around 60% of the game. The remaining 40% comprises of the strangers tasks, bounties, challenges and mini-games.

Ok, I got to Blackwater and did my first mission with Nastas and McDougal. How much more do I have to go? Don't get me wrong I am enjoying the game immensely but I am just curious as to how much bigger this game gets. And no spoilers please. Shooting a bear was cool, it's like E-P-I-C Oregon Trail sometimes. :lol

You don't have very much left to go. Maybe 15 or so missions, with a bunch of those being shorter, straightforward ones. Just remember that you aren't truly done until the end credits roll.
