Cant you go to the tall trees area by getting on a horse and riding the train tracks? I tried once and fell to my demise on a bridge but it might be possible

You mean before you unlock it via mission completion? I'd guess no, as the land bridge over the Dixon Crossing is under construction until you reach that point in the narrative, so I'd be surprised if it wasn't the same for the train tracks going over the river.

That being said, it wouldn't be a Rockstar game if there wasn't some way to glitch your way over there ahead of time...

Yeah, if you go to a cliff at the waterfall north of MacFarlane Ranch, it will say Tall Trees. If you get arrested here, you should be transported to Blackwater.

I like how it ended.
That's how he lived his life, you kinda knew it would catch up to him in the end... It's too bad his son isn't more of a badass than he was... Kinda wimpy sounding in my opinion.

Hmm, he looks a hell of a lot older than 19. How many years post is that supposed to be?

Finished the game this afternoon. . .err, well, yesterday afternoon. I played it for 12 hours the day before. I spent a good two hours searching for one last beaver pelt for a stranger. . . then of course, after I have everything I need and hunting for Brumas up north, I see tons of beavers everywhere. Figures.

Anyways, once the game finally kicked into the third act, I couldn't help but notice the main overarching plot thread was directly lifted from The Proposition. I know Rockstar had mentioned the movie was one of their main inspirations while making the game. . . I liked Red Dead more than The Proposition. . . ;)

Great game though. I'd rank it up there with Metal Gear Solid and FF7.

I really dig the ending though.

I knew it was coming because of that "Play as Jack Marston" cheat, so I knew he had a character model, and just the way the plot was going, I could tell John was going to die, and Jack was going to take over. I felt a lump in my throat once the Army was spotted at the Marston Ranch because I could see the writing on the wall"

Also, I noticed you could go into Dead Eye in the final showdown, with John vs. the Army, but it immediately kicked me out. Is that the way it's supposed to go?? Did anybody shoot Ross at the showdown at the barn?? I managed to tag one solider before they all unloaded on me.

It was immensely satisfying unloading a clip into Ross' face at the end of the game though. . . what a prick

We need a Hot Toys John Marston!!!

From what I understand, when you go into Dead Eye, Ross is not visible. I was able to get off about 5 hits before they started unloading on me. It's only after you have been shot that you then see Ross in the cutaway scene.

On a side note, Youtube took down my favorite Deadman's Gun video. :cuss Damn them. :monkey2

I just started my second playthrough.

Could there really be a sequel though?? Wasn't one of the main themes of the game that the world is changing and the characters were the last of their generation.

The point of setting the game when they did was that horses and revolvers were going the way of the dodo and automobiles and automatic weapons were coming in.

I think if they were to make a sequel it would not be much different than that Godfather game that EA put out 2-3 years ago.

I know you can make a franchise out of anything but I think Redemption should stand alone.

Yeah I agree. As much as I would love to see a sequel, a "better" prequel would make more sense. I think Rockstar will just release a ton of DLC to keep this game going over the next year or two.

Not reading any spoilers! Wanna play this through! :rock loving it still in Mexico, but not for much longer I don't think
