This game is ridiculously addicting. I spent hours just standing on cliffs sniping passers-by(and animals). With all the extra challenges and quests I started to forget about the main quest:lol

This is exactly why I started to ignore everything but the main characters and just do the main missions, because I got to a point where I was doing so many side quests and just "free roaming" I wasnt
completing any of the actual game itself. Finally just started killing people that need help and shoot every animal I see and I dont even skin them anymore because Im so tired of the skinning animation and if someone actually does need help and I run into them I listen to there story and decide if its worth it...if not I kill them. So far its working :)

Just today, Rockstar released some screenshots and more info about another mission, The Kidnapped Girl over on their websites.
The Kidnapped Girl is an all-new co-op mission, where you and your friends will gang up and try to rescue a farmer's daughter from a gang that has taken over Fort Mercer. After fighting your way through plenty o' bandits, you have to safely escort the daughter to her home in Ridgewood Farm.

Of course it IS worth it! Have you read any of the past reviews and thoughts from board members in this thread at all? It is a GREAT game worth every penny! :)

The title update is live, and I FINALLY got Mo Van Barr and my Deadly Assassin outfit. . . it only took a month, but I got what I paid for, hehe. Now, it's full speed ahead to the end of the game.

Just having trouble getting into the mindset. I got sick of the repetition of past GTA games after awhile, this looks like the same few missions re-skinned over and over again.

This game is mostly ride around on your horse and do stuff, as opposed to ride around in a car and do stuff.

It feels like there's a lot more shoot-outs in this one, and it's more action oriented. The cover system works way better, and the targeting actually works this time. I don't like GTA at all anymore, and I could only stand played Ballad of Gay Tony for an hour or so, before I realized why I hated GTA4 so much, but I love playing Red Dead.

Same here...Very hard to keep playing GTA more then an Hour...But for some reason this game you can not stop playing...I am about half way through and nothing has really that same over and over feel...(granted there are a few things that you do over and over) but the missions in this one really tell the whole story...part of the reason we all love it, we keep playing just so we can see the story go-on.

Whatever man! That is your opinion. I don't think Red Dead Redemption is a "reskinned" Grand Theft Auto game...in any way. :dunno Yes, I have played ALL of the G.T.A. games in the past before this game. I think it is an incredible game! I love the "old west" stories, movies and TV shows. I've always wanted to play a GREAT western game...and this IS the one! :clap :)

It follows the same pattern though does it not?

Same type of missions and structure? Kill this person, escort this one...it's just more of the same so to speak but in the wild west instead of present day.

But couldn't you say that about almost any game series? There's only so many mission styles you can try, before you have to start playing similar missions.

One thing that is different from GTA in terms of missions, are the horse-breaking and cattle herding missions. I didn't enjoy them that much, but it does show that this western game does have something different to work with, than compared to GTA4.

Also, you get to ride horsies!!!!!! :rock
