The black stitching looks to be an addition. So is the hood. I'm sure there's not much of a difference, but if they treat it like they did the sniper, there'll be enough of a difference to consider it more than a repaint.

The Gee(correct if wrong about actual term for upper body apparrel) looks to be the same. This is strickly based on the one pic we have. Regardless, I like it. I commend SS for putting out non core figures.

No, it doesn't look the same and actually looks to be quite different in fact. Different vambraces, different shirt (Storm Shadow had a spandex one), hood, vest is thicker, hat, etc. Other than them both being ninjas and each having a ninjato and a wakizashi, I don't really see what you mean.

No kidding. If I was that disappointed and annoyed all the time I would hate this hobby. I don't know why some of these guys even bother with collecting if its such a hassle and constant annoyance to them.

Pretty much. If you're just going to complain about everything and not find one good thing about the figure just write it off and look after something else. Is the Red Ninja a "must have?" No. Is he really rad looking? YES. Firefly and Beachhead are coming later this year, doesn't that make 4 figures for 2010? Plus the Red ninja will probably ship before too long making it 5 for the year. I can wait a while for a figure as long as they keep the quality control up and not F it up. Same mentality goes for any of the PF statues.

I like it. I've got one of the Cotswold exclusive red ninjas and while it's great for the price, having a GI Joe line one makes me happy. It also means that I don't have to redye the spare Storm Shadow one I picked up.

I'm good for 6, just because I'm an army building whore.

I would love to army-build these, but I can't get past all of the faces being the same. That is on me, I know. But I am certain to grab a few extra for a time in the future when alternat heads may come available.

From this preview pic, this looks pretty cool and illustrates to me at least that Sideshow is still willing to take some risks in this line....which cannot be said for a lot of other companies out there right now in this economy and in this industry.

I'm anxious to see more pictures of this for sure later this week. I'll probably pre-order one, but keeping the pre-order and actually getting one will depend on timing given some of the other SS items still to come this year that I've pre-ordered.

I will look in to that...not a bad idea for a use for the bare SS portrait.
