While I've changed all the figures up themselves I haven't been able to toss out the boxes yet. The Joe stuff is my favorite of SSC's packing since the old movie poster boxes. Man I wish they'd bring that style back for a bit.

Honestly, only a fool would count on Hastings to discount a figure they really want. Hastings is great for finding awesome deals on duplicates or a figure you had a passing interest in, but there are absolutely no guarantees going that route.

That said, its not like that "fool" is going to get burned on the after market if they never go on sale at gohastings.
:lol

Whats the worse that could happen? You miss 6-12 months of enjoying the figure and have to pick it up for retail! Oh no, what a travesty! :slap Only a fool acts impatiently.

I DO think these will be available at gohastings...most army building figures from SW and Joe recently have, so why not these. Whether gohastings will have their huge sales or not, I don't know.

The line stops because too many waited for possible discounts.

I while back, I was able to sell the boxes for a nice chunk of change. I sold the Storm Shadow box for 90.00 on ebay, believe it or not. Cobra Commander 60.00, Snake Eyes 35.00. Im going to assume that the buyers thought it was a whole figure, even though I did put EMPTY BOX on the description, some people just dont read.

Buying cheap is still better than not buying. SSC can always cut their edition sizes again and let the elite pay $200 for figures to keep the line going. The fact that SSC still sells to Hastings is proof that SSC wants the business from cheapskates. Companies wouldn't make coupons if they didn't work and companies wouldn't sell to retailers if they didn't profit from it.

know what the samsung coupon is? waiting 6 months to a year (just like with gohastings) and it will be at least 40% lower. The 50" Panasonic Viera plasma I bought before the Superbowl for $1400 is like $1000 now.

and yes, it eats me up inside!!!!! :lol

No its not. When Hasting sells their stuff cheap, like the Cobra Trooper and such is because its inventory that is not selling. If Hasting decides to cut the amount ordered due to that fact. We the collectors pay the consequences. SS doesnt give a crap about what Hasting sells, all they care is how much inventory Hasting buys from them. If Hasting feels that the inventory is not selling well, guess what, Hasting will either lower the amount of figures they order from SS or cut them out all together.
BTW, coupons is another way of getting rid of their overstock.

Flawed logic. Waiting for figures to go on clearance does nothing whatsoever to support an existing line. Eventually, all the cheap bastards relying on Hastings to have their fat discounts on Sideshow figures will result in them no longer ordering figures from Sideshow because in order to sell them, they take a huge hit. In turn, Sideshow deems the line less popular because stores are cutting back their orders.

Best Buy pricematch. Got $400 back on mine :yess:

well, ssc can either have me buying figures through gohastings and their website on about a 50/50 basis. or they can not have me buying their figures at all. if I was forced to pay $100+ for all my figures, then I'd quit collecting and what good does that do SSC? if ssc wants me to buy all their figures like I used to, they know what to do. i bought every single SW figure from 2006-2008 at full price. plus every LOTR figure they made. they changed on me, i had to adapt. i don't think i should feel sorry for that. and they cancelled LOTR before I even knew what gohastings was.

its pretty easy to say if nobody buys at regular price they'll stop the line. thats obvious. the question is, why are people not buying at full price? maybe it has something to do with figures being too expensive?

ANYWAYS...not every conversation I'm involved in needs to devolve into the same story. you guys buy your way, i'll continue mine until its not available anymore.

I wonder how much of that has to do with people collecting more figures from newer lines?
