The sculpt is NOT (in any way) an accurate represention of the graphic-novel character.

.

So?

She's been portrayed differently in a dozen or more ways in media and in figures.

Sideshow has license to produce Alien and Predator subjects from Fox. Anything they do they have to get approval from Fox. I'm sure the next Alien movie will bear Neill Blomkamp's distinctive signature and might end up being quite different than both Ridley Scott's or James Cameron's approach.

Nolan's Batman is different than Burton's Batman which is different than the Arkham series Batman which is different from the classic Bob Kane Batman which is different from the Frank Miller Batman which is different than the Bruce Timm Animated Series Batman which is different than the campy TV series Adam West Batman. Which one is the "accurate" interpretation?

I like that they chose to portray the character "differently" than the graphic novels do ( and that's debateable, really, because she's sculpted as an human Asian female bearing the mark of a Yautja tribe clad in Predator body armor and wielding a plasma cannon, wristblades and a combi-spear - she fits the description). You might not like it, and that's okay! You're entitled to your opinion. I think they did a fantastic job with this Premium Format figure.

Anyway, we're way off topic so I'll stop here.

I disagree. I think it's a really good representation of the character. It's all subjective anyway since it's based on our tastes & opinions.

Neither of us is right or wrong.

I'd be surprised if anyone seriously thought the face on the Sideshow piece looked Japanese.

(* but since this is a bit of a thread derail, I'll shut up now :) *)

Based on the cost of the 1/4 scale Dark Knight (also by Harbottle) the cost on that piece is $469. So... maybe about that much.

You haven't had the Conan PF and are basing your comment on 'pictures' you have seen. You should really try and see this piece yourself as I think you will be pleasantly surprised at the quality of it. I think it captures his weathered, obviously tanned look very well. Again, going of pictures I was unsure of getting him but had to take the chance and I am so glad I did!

If this new Sonja has ANY problems, then SS are more than willing to sort it out with the individual from my experience. Loving this piece more and more as it really portrays the character as a very dangerous femme fatale!
