Jensen Ackles would be a good Leon too, but Wentworth Miller is just not a good choice for Chris imo just like Oded Fehr was a not a good choice for Carlos.

Wentworth Miller isn't a perfect choice, but if he had longer hair, it wouldn't be as bad. Will Lupardus from the RE5 live action viral campaign did a great job, and looks a lot like Chris.....minus the body builder buffness.

Wentworth Miller doesn't scream badass mofo to me, he screams running away like a little girl. Then again, seeing as how RE2 and RE3 came out, I'm not suprised the producers dropped the ball again.

this movie looks terrible (save for a few scenes). How many Matrix rip offs can you have in one flick. Plus the 3D looks terrible.

I think I played as far as RE:2 in the video game world, so I pretty much know very little about the RE universe, so.....

Yup...glad I'm not the only one who noticed this. I shook my head because they can't even be original with the music in the trailer, but steal it from another RE movie sountrack (which is sad because I loved the soundtrack to RE 2).

Interesting. Thanks for the info. all! I'm not a big Perfect Circle fan, so I've never heard that song before, but I like it now! Didn't know it was from RE:2 either.

^^Recheck my post. I added the youtube song. A Perfect Circle is one of my favorite bands, and the soundtrack versions of their songs are usually awesome. The version of Judith on the Underworld soundtrack is also great.

Silent Hill film > all Resident Evil films, including the yet to be released Afterlife.

Good god, yes. Best horror film in forever. I couldn't believe how good it was when I rented it last Halloween. I want more.

Oh I agree. But it's still better than all the Resident Evil films. At least Silent Hill attempts to stay with the source material both thematically and aesthetically. Where it falters is where it deviates slightly from the Silent Hill games, but I think it was a good step forward for video game films.

Meh, I really enjoyed it. I really like the story and yea the effects were awesome. I will admit though that the acting was pretty terrible. I can re-watch this one numerous times. Marginally better than RE but WAY better than RE2 and RE3.

You know what, I had said before that "Silent Hill film > All Resident Evil films", but actually that's only because all the sequels dragged down the first Resident Evil film. If the sequels hadn't been made, I think I would hold the SH film and the first RE film in almost the same regard. I say "almost" mostly because I'm biased towards the Silent Hill games as being better than the RE games.

I do like the original Resident Evil film. For the first hour or so it's a very cool film that has a unique set-up. The way we're introduced to Alice and the labratory was truly interesting. However, once the film shifts into ridiculous action-horror, it begins throwing away ideas from the games. Basically the second I saw Alice jump kick a zombie dog it was all over.

The Silent Hill film kept my attention until almost the very end, when it turns bat-____ insane (even for SH standards )inside the church and throws subtlety out the window.

Yea they will make my favorite character a weak side character to alice with her stupid unessescary power's. I mean atleast RE1 kinda felt like a resident evil movie. Now it has ninja's and an army of alice's. Wtf.
