I'm almost finished playing RE1 on Wii, and it really doesn't need to be updated. I would say release it in HD and you'd be good. To be honest, the graphics were way ahead of their time and stand up well to current stuff given the generation difference.

That said, RE2 really needs to be revisited, as well as FFVII and MGS1.

Its a shame all this talk about remakes feels so futile. i mean, ORC was probably their way of saying to us " this is set during re 2/3 " take it and piss off about a remake!

And we did get the Chronicles games, which were abridged versions in great graphics. So i fear we will never get a remake again. The only thing we can hope for is an old school style game.

I'm all about progression and breathing new life into franchises, but I think if Capcom is doing one thing wrong it's changing too much of what worked with RE instead of improving it. I like what Konami is doing, both Castlevania and MGS seem to be moving in interesting directions. Nintendo is doing good as well. Square Enix & Capcom just have me scratching my head a lot of the time. While I do enjoy the game we're getting, it seems like they are doing the bare minimum to keep most of the old school RE fans on board and changing a lot of other stuff.

You only get all the abilities once you get to the car park of the first leon demo. But then in the newer demo the sprint and therefor some of the mele, and evasion actions you dont get given until you are out in the bleacher area.

Id hate to think, later in the game im being ambushed by more powerful enemies, i think ill run and shoulder barge them, or jump back and shoot only to find i dont have the ability at this point in time! It would actually hinder us
Yeah, but I'm under the assumption they do that to pace the people just starting out the game/demo. It's not likely you'll be restricted at that point in the story, in the full release. Though, this is Capcom after all, so who the hell knows.

I honestly don't know what's become of them anymore. I love their games and they have always been one of my favorite publishers/developers, but they're trying really hard to push me to adopting a new teat. Dragon's Dogma was an awesome game, despite its flaws, yet the dlc for that title was so abysmal and useless it could make the horse armor from Oblivion look worthy. And then there's the unquestionably idiotic decision to reboot the DMC franchise... and then give it to a western "fashonista" developer. Also, they seem absolutely hell bent on avoiding a remake of RE2 and RE3, the most requested video game remakes of all time, next to FFVII.

And while some would also cite their practice of releasing "ultimate" or "gold" editions of select games, I can't really complain about the whole thing, as most major publishers are sporting the trend now.

Well, to be fair lately re3 only has re 5 & ORC to compete with.

Id pit , 0, re1/remake, 2, code veronica, 4 and the chronicles games over it. Ive never played the outbreak games. Re3 just feels like a side-game. its so short, and easy. The only time its hard is when you make it hard for yourself and decide to fight Nemesis every time. And the duration of the game is about 1/3 of what it should be.

And the game is pretty pointless to start with given Re2 already covered the goings on at the time 1000x better than re 3 did. "re3" feels like it should of been an unlock mode after you complete re 2 or something. The only thing it adds to the re story is that a nuke took out the city. Which could of been added at the start of a new game with 20 seconds of explanation.

Its really odd they only do it during the Leon campaign though :-/

Though id love for the ability to be present during the actual game release. Though i dont think it will be

Id be happy with a HD re-release of RE1 remake that was released on the Gamecube. Id be fine with that.

Betwen Chris and Leon... I feel I bonded better with Leon in Re4 than with Chris in Re5.

RE4(GC) was the best in the series for me. RE5 was a let down. I remember getting the first RE games for the PS and cutting all the lights off...the atmosphere was great.

RE5 was just a more amped up rehash of RE4 if you look at the early trailers and such Re5 was going to be a completly different game and it would have turned out to be epic but they screwed it up and made it into RE 4.5 with chris. There wasnt even going to be a chainsaw guy in RE5. Just a dude with a huge scicle type thing.

Both RE3 and RE4 are the most "side game" games in the primary storyline, with RE3 being the most "side game."

He had the Axe/Hammer that the executioner ended up with.
