Resident Evil 5 was lackluster and a total paradigm shift from what made the franchise great. 6 does not look like it will be returning to form at all. The movies have also evolved into more action/adventure types and they are definitely a guilty pleasure. Box office wise they're only gaining in popularity.

Having said all this - you cannot deny that the often simultaneous production of both the RE films and games influence each other immensely.

I wouldn't mind the films if they weren't COMPLETELY about Alice. Every movie after the first one are the same.

Every trailer is "My name is Alice, I worked for the Umbre... blah blah blah"

And the whole action/adventure thing bled into the games sadly. I like the action aspect of RE4 but it still kept the horror/creepy aspect in there (especially the Zealots). It was completely gone in RE5 and was completely based on action.

The Majini were awful.

I seriously thought for RE5 Wesker was going to introduce the T-Veronica Virus, but we got Uroboros. Now we have the C-Virus. Maybe RE7 we'll get the Z-Virus?

Lol I have so many awesome ideas I would use. A resident evil game in an insane asylum that's run by umbrella. It's been out of commission for years and Claire red field must investigate the asylum. Little does she no that the insane asylum was used for experiments and zombies and crazys still inhabit it. Also a Lisa Trevor esque girl follows you around the asylum.

If Capcom were smart (which they aren't anymore) they would have Alex Wesker appear in a future title with some hybrid of the G and T-Veronica viruses. Knowing Capcom, we'll probably just never see either ever again.

Alex Wesker should of been the villian in 6 but maybe he will be in 7. I'm guessing he's immortal if you read the files in Lost in Nightmares.
