I think people have been waiting for a Leon figure for so long that when this one was posted a lot of you were blinded by hype, saying it looks amazing and whatnot and then the false assumption it was a collaboration with LIM just got folks more excited.
Now that the initial excitement has died down folks are seeing the figure for what it is, decent but not anything mind blowing.

The sculpt needs to be reworked, the body sucks but I don't see them changing it since people want seamless and MT doesn't have the funds to be getting expensive bodies. As far as the accessories it's common for third parties and even licensed brands to not do a lot of them because it reduces costs and it's soooo much easier for QC, that's why companies like Soosoo, Threezero, Toys Era and the other usual suspects give figures like 4 to 5 accessories or even less.

So look Master Team is a very small third party working with limited funds and doing mostly decent figures, calling them lazy and shaming them for not using expensive bodies on their figures or for not creating a new body which is a monumental task is not the way to go about this. It was always going to be a lose-lose situation, people will hate the included body and they would hate it if it didn't come with one but I do hope they listen to the criticism on the head because it's not great in my opinion.

At the end of the day folks need to stop getting carried away by the hype and going from one extreme to the other with their first impressions. When Ashley was announced she was met with so much hate and Ada was heavily criticized too so I was surprised to see Leon being received with such high praise but now that time has passed most agree that MT's Ashley wasn't as awful as it was claimed to be and now Leon is a huge disappointment even tho it was "AMAZING!" and the best thing ever just a day ago lol also buying multiple figures of something because of hype is nobody's fault but yours really.

Well I agree but also disagree, bc MT has done some amazing figures in the past. I called them lazy bc they are capable to do a nice high quality Leon, but they didn't. Figure is overpriced already for what it is and in that budget they could totally offer us a better body.
I can understand that not everyone can offer us Limtoys quality and care but they should have tried better.
I preordered 3 bc he's one of my fav characters and want to recreate different looks, but I guess "recreating different looks" gonna cost me extra 400$. My hype is still there as we don't have much options, however the body news reduced my expectations.

P.S. and yes we were blind by the hype.

I'm still pretty hype, this will be my definitive Leon until someone like Inart or Hot Toys make one which will be never lol..
I almost never base my purchase decisions on some random comments online but I do like taking part in the discussion, If I like what I see I will get it.

I wont not gonna jump to any conclusions just yet, I will wait to see how the figure is in hand and I'm not gonna be playing with it, probably just change his pose once a while and permanently have his Jacket on I think.

I dont think MT will make a new body, that takes alot of R&D. What would make people happy though? If it came with a TBLeague body?
I'm glad it comes with a body even if it is on the "cheaper" side, I do agree its still abit pricy overall for what you get but better than no body for me personally.

I agree people were blinded by hype, but I wouldn't call MT's Leon awful (Ashley is still the worst out of the three) because I can at least see some resemblance to the game model. The By Art headsculpt looks literally nothing like RE4R Leon and I wonder if people calling that sculpt good have even played the game. I finished the main campaign and Separate Ways in professional so I've looked at his face a lot lol. MT Leon is decent but overrated because the other options are so bad.

Separate Ways is much, much better than the original btw, great value for 10 bucks. Ada needs her own game.

Idk y’all. I feel like there isn’t really an excuse for the lack of accessories/features when you look at other third party offerings that are the same price. Like CCToys, their figures come with a ton of accessories. And ToysEra figures don’t come with a lot of accessories but all their accessories have a good level of detail to them and their figures usually come with a second pair of clothing or something to give the figure a little boost in value. If I look at my MT lara, the accessories are very low detail. And the guns Ada and Leon come with are very basic. Say about SWToys what you will, all their releases have their issues. But atleast they’re trying to be ambitious. As for value you get a lot more with their figures than MT’s.

I can forgive the body as 90% of all third party figures have bodies that suck and need swapping anyway. I wish they’d just gone with a jointed body with a nice skin texture painted on like Damtoys has done for Claire. But alas.

These figures by MT are extremely bare bones for the price. They don’t even come with a stand. Even if it was a ****** stand, atleast it’s something of value. It doesn’t even feel like a full figure. And yes I very much agree that we’re blinded by hype because this is the only offering on the table and we’ve been starved for months. I won’t count the abomination Hot Heart made.

At the end of the day I’m interested in buying it and it does have some nice qualities. But it’s nothing to write home about and the criticism is well deserved.

Yup, I was the one who initially went crazy and I even said so in my past comments, as I'm STILL hyped and even got 2 pieces, I still am cause I know MT can deliver and honestly I know they can do better with criticism, we're not shaming them lol, we never said EVERYTHING is crap or whatever, we know they can do better and make an amazing figure so why not let them know? If you say you really dislike something after you spend some time to really take it all in, I don't think it's a bad thing, it takes time to notice things.

The sculpt looks so wonky the more I look at it. Feel like the entire mouth structure is really off, along with the eyes.

Hope this is something that they consider tweaking. Them using a cheap Jiou body that's likely to fall apart doesn't help either.

MT Ada looks pretty good imo and Ashley’s likeness is good but the hair lets it down, while leon is just completely off in so many departments; face sculpt, hair, tailoring

Really disappointed and will just hope for a better offering from another company

I dont think its badly tailored I think its just the awkward proportions of the jiaou doll. The jacket will look fine on a different body.

I don’t think anyone would be hung up on the accessories either if the quality of the headsculpt, body and clothes would make up for it. But it clearly doesn’t. I hope they just rushed out the prototype and the final product is gonna be better.

For the record, Ashley is still really bad. The most bare bones third party figure I’ve seen.

And you shouldn't, people can say what they feel like, for me it doesn't feel okay to not be able to do so, people should do and say as they want (talking specifically on this topic). It's our money we pay with so if we think they are lazy we can say so. Same for me, I also agree with you. Let's stop saying this that and basically be robots. We can be hype then notice things we don't like later lol. They clearly have the talent and can do better
