But you only play arguably two of the worst games in the series though.

i can understand why you would argue they are the 2 worst games in the franchise.

you probably grew up from the RE1 era as such the nostalgic thing is clinging on you causing you to make biased judgement.

people say it's bad mainly because it's more like a 3rd person shooter instead, you would say RE4 & 5 were the 3rd & 4th worst games in the franchise but you know you can't counter their sales number & success.

also you left out Gun Survivor & Gun Survivor Code Veronica which are 1st person shooters & much worse than RE1 even though graphics were alright so even if to you ORC & RE6 are the 2 worst games how can they be when we already have the 2 worst Gun Survivor games?

Biased opinion is biased & unfair.

On another note, it's hilarious that Ryan is the only Premium Member in this thread now :lol.
Oh wow, I just noticed that :lol
Yup, all of you are inferior to me. At least until mine expires and I have no incentive to renew it. :lol
this means you have a superior opinion to tater though, so his is even more invalid.

Except this entire post implies that you grew up with the RE6 era or at least around that, so you are biased to that era as opposed to the RE1 era as that you are claiming ironwez is biased to. RE6 actually sold well under Capcom's expectations, and as for it being one of the worst games in the series, it's a main stream title that follows more along the series then those other games you mentioned.

ORC and Gun Survivor have no impact at all, no one even really cares about those two. RE6 caused Capcom basically re-evaluate the series and they're not sure what to do with it. Meanwhile on RE4 and 5,they were successful financially and critically (though RE5 now comes under scrutiny and for good reason). RE6, ORC, and Gun Survivor were neither successful critically or financially. Arguably, you even have that nostalgic bias too, and hence why this post of yours is pretty poorly thought out - even for your standards. What about RE2, RE3, REmake, Code Veronica and RE0? RE1 even got a re-release on the DS with entire new content, and still did great even after RE4 came out.

By the way I started with the RE4 era, but I generally enjoy the whole series bar Gun Survivor, ORC and 6. I have no bias, because I know you will try to claim alongside some other oddities you will bs.

Just started following this thread after ordering the new Resident Evil. Really started playing these with the re-release of RE1 on GameCube. I'm sure it's been mentioned by plenty of others, but one thing about those early games that really worked is the way the camera angles switch from room to room, etc. RE4 was great but still didn't capture the cinematic way those first games were set up, also made them terrifying when you could hear something but not see it, cause a zombie was out of frame even while being potentially directly in front of you.

I say this acknowledging that that style of game would likely always make for clunky controls, but still wish they kept those style of games coming even after they started with the RE4 type of gameplay. They're such different animals in my book.

Anyhow, would love if they redid one of the other games that were like that or did a new game like that one of these days. RE1 is still my favorite, RE0 isn't bad. Enjoyed 4-5 thoroughly and 6 at times.

if you like Nintendo RE games you should try Gaiden too.

also if you are into Coop Umbrella Corps is a good recoomendation. i can see you had bad experience with ORC so you might have skipped UC.

the modern control style on RE1 & RE0 remakes are good except when the screen changes continue holding in forward direction from the previous screen makes your character to continue to run forward however if you meet a zombie and wanted to change direction it becomes confusing. a good example would be the starting area of RE0.

And now we know why potatoes are used negatively in phrases.

I recall him even being irritated that people goofing on his name here... you're the one that picked it genius :lol
idk what it is but I just keeping see you post and I'm like 'haha good one Solidus :lol ....oh wait....'. not sure why, maybe since I'm so out of touch with this forum lately. I even briefly forgot Jameson Rook possessed Ryan's account.
I see there's still a whole lot of potating from a potater...
Potaters gonna potate

All of this right here. I grew up watching my older sister and cousins play the older gamers but the first resident evil I ever beat was 4. It doesn't take rocket science or a biased opinion to see that orc and 6 were awful games.

Over stuffed , ****** and pandered to the cod crowd. I bought orc and that was the most repetitive, most glitchy game I've ever played. It was awful.

can see from your post you are biased with games similar to COD.

Not really potatart. I like Fps games. I play halo, titanfall and battlefield. I like the fps genre. Im not biased to them at all. Those elmenets however don't belong near a resident evil game. The whole action and explosions left and right and killing monsters with a large assortment of weapons is not resident evil.

Resident evil is a slow paced ,anxiety inducing game that doesn't hold your hand.

Replaying RE6 Leon. I actually forgot it went all temple of Doom. Its boring to be honest. Started off alright but worse than I remembered. I completely forgot about the shark thing. Felt totally out of place and not a touch on Fi-03 Neptune

yea start the name calling ironwuz.

obviously you are biased with COD. you may like Halo, Titanfall & Battlefield, you probably hate anything similar to COD.

Resident Evil has always been guns & explosions since the original game.

Giving you a handgun & shotgun & few bullets until halfway to game doesn't mean the game is not weapon oriented. And by the time RE2 came it already had lots of high powered weapons. RE4 onwards merely gave you alot more options on the weapons, unlimited bullets & RPG has been in most of the RE games required to be unlocked.

Only difference is in RE1 you have the option to outrun most of the enemies. If you wanted to blame something you should blame RE2 for making the game guns & blazing. But no because of Nostalgia sake it's the favorite game for many fans so you put the blame on RE4 where most newcomers started on.

If you want to play survival horror without killing stuffs you should just play Clock Tower or Haunting Ground, they are much scarier than any RE games. Understand the difference between Action Survival & Horror Survival.
