It IS the Last of Us! All the way to the flashlight and how the characters grunt when aiming a gun. :lol

Anyone have any idea why Moira detests guns? Ironic considering how Barry loves guns. Anyway, I'm thinking either her mother or her sisiter, Polly, committed suicide with a gun. Maybe they became infected somehow and Moira had to do the deed with a gun? Hopefully there's a valid reason, Capcom.

It's probably going to be something dumb or that we don't really care about, despite Capcom's intention to gain sympathy. No one really felt for Sheva when she said her parents were killed in a biohazard and that it's her motivation (Then again, who actually cared about Sheva period? :lol ) I don't think many people felt for Helena's sister, they may have felt something though...but not that big.

You're right though, it is a little peculiar that she detests guns.

I'm pretty sure that Barry's entire family was held at gunpoint by Wesker's men during RE1 and this was the reason behind Barry's betrayal. Not saying it's necessarily convincing, but it would make sense why she'd be a bit traumatized.

Father has an affinity for guns. Rebellious daughter rebels and hates guns. It's cliche. But also not that farfetched. I mean especially if your dad is Barry "I have this" Burton :lol

I think in some article it was stated she despises guns due to some past tragedy. So, yeah. Probably something like above posters have mentioned.

How is any Resident Evil game a rip off of TLOU when that game lifted several elements that had been an RE staple for 14 years prior to its release?

Revelations 2 looks very similar to The Evil Within, but Revelations 2 has something we actually care about. Characters, story and lore.

Perhaps we are jumping on the hate wagon too quickly. But nothing in that gameplay video sparked even the slightest bit if excitement in me. It just seems so cookie cutter. But as with everything RE, I will absolutely give it its due shot.

Nothing has be excited for Rev2 really either. Well, knowing what Claire is up to AND playing as her is awesome. More Barry Burton lore too. And the game itself im hoping evolves like the first Revelations did. We are seeing lots of action but im hoping thats purely because they dont think the long walking down quiet corridors would make for a good clip. Im full of hope, but the gameplay actually looks like a game i wouldnt want to play at the moment.

The inclusion of Barry -finally- is the main reason I'm looking forward to this. Claire returning is a plus as well. Everything else appears a little dull. I'm trying to stay away from a pessimistic stance on this...I need Barry to guide me :lol

:lecture I don't get the hate that this is somehow a TLOU ripoff just because of little nuances with the aiming system.

RE practically introduced the over-the-shoulder aiming system in the zombie gaming genre, now is every game with over-the-shoulder somehow ripping off from RE? The moment I see Claire running around in far third-person, going crazy with pragmatic melee Uncharted-style, THEN maybe I can understand such crits. There's nothing wrong with Capcom making tweaks to the aiming system, and it's certainly not something that should put anyone off from the game (there's far more legitimate reasons such as franchise fatigue etc.)

Overall I don't see anything wrong with it. It's so inoffensive that it's practically doing nothing brand new, to the point that it seems to simply offer more of the same (which isn't so bad when "more of the same" is basically the equivalent of getting a Revelations sequel).

I always thought that Resident Evil would be better off as a black comedy, since every time it tries to present itself as being a serious drama, it falls flat. Even RE4 knew that hence the sudden shift from the super gritty intro to the wackiness of the later chapters.

Having fun with the genre tropes is better than trying to appease everyone and fail. That's RE's problem.

I know some folks didn't like the simplistic story and medieval style of RE4, but it won game awards for a reason: it was the best RE game tonally and technically.

If RE really wanted to go serious, I'd prefer something like the Outbreak games which really stripped it down to the bare essentials of the horrors of the zombie apocalypse. That said, the first Revelations game was a step in the right direction of making original stories and toning down the action, so I hope this one follows suit.
