I wonder if the games will be main titles or the side games like Survivor, Dead Aim etc. On the main games I want Capcom to take their time to make it good. The side game I don't mind if they're a little rushed or slightly lesser quality than the main games.

In all seriousness though, 4 RE games a year is overkill. It's worse than how Activision treats it's Call of Duty franchise.

Fortunately, this year is already half-way over and there hasn't been and probably won't be any RE releases until 2011.

If they play their cards right, I think 3 or 4 games can be doable without making it seem like Capcom is milking the franchise until its udders are dry.

2011
RE: Revelations
RE 6
RE Darkside sequel

There, that's already 3 and it doesn't seem excessive.

Small update to that previous report. Their was a translation error. the 3-4 was not referring to just Resident Evil games, but to all their major franchises combines.

Capcom will be upping its output of Resident Evil and other major titles, according to a report from Nikkei's web edition.

As part of a general report on attempts by publishers to reduce development times, the site states that Capcom aims to increase output of new entries in popular series like Resident Evil from the current two titles per year to three or four titles per year.

Developing a large scale title requires a staff of over 100. To increase output, Capcom plans on making use of outsourcing, centered primarily on North American and European studios. Through the use of external resources, Capcom believes it can reduce development times from four years to between two and three years.

][Note: A previous version of this story suggested that Capcom is aiming to release three or four Resident Evil games per year. The Nikkei is actually referring to three or four major releases from various popular series in a given year. Resident Evil Kart Racing is still probably a ways off.]

Capcom's goal in all of this is to avoid the falling sales and earnings it experienced last year. The company aims to stabilize earnings by releasing more software.

sooo false alarm people.

I wonder if that means we'll see a new Onimusha? You now I'd personally would like to see a sequel to Haunting Ground though that wasn't a popular title?

I'd love to see a new Onimusha, classic series of games.

Ah good ole haunting ground, Yeah I don't think it sold nearly well enough to get a sequel. A shame really, it was a hidden gem.

Haunting Ground was one of the few games I felt tense the entire time playing it despite the fact there arn't many enemies in it. Truely and underrated and underapprciated game that imo deserves a sequel.

Speaking of HG, would't it be funny if Fiona shows up the the new Marvel vs Capcom?

Yeah man, that game was intense, a few times i had to pause and just relax cause i was so tensed up.

She would make for an interesting fighter just runs at you screaming with her head down and arms flailing :lol, probably would use the dog for most of her attacks or she would be similar to the pokemon trainer in super smash bros brawl. just sits in the back ground letting the animal fight.

(but I think amaterasu took up the "dog as fighter" slot :()

The maid Daniella is to me is still one of the creepiest VG characters imo. Even now when I play the game I allways get a little uneasy when I know she's gonna start chasing me. I love her eratic moves and schizophrenic twitches and the fact she uses a giant piece of broken glass that cuts into her hand as a weapon just really makes her such a disturbing character.

You know, call me crazy but I'd kinda like a 1/6 figure of Fiona with Hewie as an accessory.

Anyway back on topic, any news on Revelations?

I'd be all over that.

and no...no news on revelations :lol.....:(

Oh sh__ that andriasang article also mentioned RE Kart racing. I was just joking. Do people really want that?

Duh of course they do...it would only be the best kart game ever.

Oh man. I can imagine T-virus projectile weapon pick-ups.

Anyway, I thought Capcom already puts out more than 3-4 games per year, individual properties combined.

Yeah I don't know for sure I don't keep tabs on em. But they said they're biggest titles which is like Resident Evil, Street fighter...umm...Mega man?...and um....monster hunter? :dunno

Resident Evil Revelations not due anytime soon.

At this year's E3 gaming expo, Capcom showed off two still-in-development Nintendo 3DS games: Super Street Fighter IV 3D Edition and the tentatively titled Resident Evil: Revelations. Don't look for them to be hitting your local game shop anytime soon, though.

At a recent investors meeting, Capcom was asked whether it planned to release any Nintendo 3DS games during the financial year ending next April. Capcom stated it did "not expect" those 3DS titles to be ready for release during this fiscal year.

When pressed further about when Capcom will release Nintendo 3DS games, the company replied that it had not yet set any dates.

Capcom will be using its in-house game engine "MT Framework", which it uses for console and PC titles, to develop Nintendo 3DS games. "By employing our original game development engine the 'MT Framework'," Capcom stated, "we are able to streamline the basic development processes with those for other consoles. Thus we don't really expect to see a dramatic rise in costs."
